Among the gun control provisions passed last year that went into effect at the beginning of this year was a restriction on the sale of ammunition. This is plainly a means for CA to control (and restrict) ammunition sales in the state.

On January 1, Breitbart News reported that new California state laws bar out-of-state ammunition purchases and require that all in-state purchases be made from a state-approved, licensed dealer. This shrinks the supply, which will inevitably drive up price. Moreover, they require that any ammunition purchased online be sent to a licensed in-state dealer, who will then charge a processing fee for the ammo, thereby driving the price up even further.

Also when selling to/from an individual, the transaction must go through a registered ammo vendor or FFL with a limit of 500 rounds max!

The suit was filed in the name of California resident and six-time Olympic gold medalist, Kim Rhode.

The problem with most of these lawsuits is that they don't show their legal argument. As we have seen in the past the government can freely restrict the sale of guns and ammo up until a judge says you have gone too far and you are now infringing on the rights stated in the second amendment. In the past there seems to be no limit on the restrictions.
