You can also find useful information by searching tactical forums, a lot of good info is buried in there.

I do like ar15.com for the technical stuff, have not looked inside general discussion there in years...

I'm registered at any number of 'em, but I only frequent THR. I'll lurk TFL, and I posted a bit to the BattleRifles.com site before Scott sold it to American Backyard. Only other forum I ever posted to was the Off Topic sub-forum at DiabloII.net.

THR has by far the best people and topics IMO. I also belong to Glocktalk (mostly because I am a glock owner, and glock questions there don't start the BS of glock vs. 1911).

I also read ar15's survival forum pretty much everyday but have never registered.


APS Question! is APS a THR run thing, or some some members here made an offtopic forum there (due to no off topic forum at THR?) Same people? I have seen it mentioned, but never visited because I didn't know alot about it. If its like THR but offtopic, that would be cool.

I used to also use the ArmsLocker.com quite frequently but had quite a falling out with its owner. It used to be no moderation to very little moderation and lots of trash talk by a few members. Now they have more moderators and it may be worth it although I don't see any point in myself using that site any longer because of personal reasons. No reason for you not to try it, but if some user by the handle of .223 fan, or gunkid, or andy starts to give you trash or know it all talk, then things probably are not better there.

Sigforum would probably be considered my 'home' forum, cuz, I'm a Sig guy.

THR is the only other forum I follow. I prefer to deep read one or two forums, rather than hit a bunch lightly. I think it gives me a better feeling for the topics and personalities involved.

That being said, another thing I like about THR is I can get to it from work when I have the chance.

Since I've been transitioning over to 1911s and Hi Powers, I find the forums specifically for those to be the most informative.
