I have a beautiful M1 Garand that I got a few years ago from the CMP...Springfield Armory, 1939 manufacturer (5 digit serial number), NM op rod...everything is is really in nice shape on her.

Except the stock. It was a RRAD arsenal and was at some point thrown into a bin with a lot of other Garands. LOTS of rear sight gouges in the stock, very mismatched handguards, etc. It had character...and lots of it. Hard to tell from this picture of me shooting it but it was fairly beat.

I saw in Shotgun news that Numrich was selling refinished USGI stocks. I ordered one along with handguards. It is a really nice stock. The cartouches are still there and mine has and SA cartouche as well as the circle P. Only a few dings...not really noticable.

It isn't anything like a Weinig or some of the presentation stocks I've seen but it sure looks (at least to me) like it would have when leaving the factory. I'm really proud of it. The pic shows the rear handguard being much lighter...that is a trick of the lighting...it really is pretty close.

looks nice. can I ask how much the stock was? my CMP Greek could sure use some new furniture.

Numrich lists the buttstock for $99. The handguards are pretty expensive ($30?) but you can also get them from SARCO for around $20.

Not bad for genuine GI. About the same as Boyds or CMP but they are authentic if that is important to you.

Good Deal.
Gun Parts Inc. has a way of coming up with some really good stuff in amongst the turds.

Nice.
Pictures of Garands always make me feel all warm and fuzzy down there. But invariably there's a guy shooting the Garand and that just ruins it.

Anyone have any pics of hot women shooting Garands? :)
