Learned with sadness that another young officer was killed here, shot in the head while trying to arrest a robbery suspect a few days ago. He shooter was killed by other officers on the scene… I’m sure we’ll hear all about it in the coming days from news media. As usual the young officer was the best of us…

I’m long retired from police work but during my era, 1973 to 1995 we lost an average of three a year every year I was active counting Dade and Broward counties as a single area. I read that 50-60 cops are murdered every year. Not just killed in the line of duty. Murdered in the U. S. You never hear that in the news

A friend of mine was killed on the 7th responding to a DV/shots fired call. I played bagpipes for him as he left the hospital, entered the coroner's office, and at his memorial this past Monday. All that being said, I have to close this as it is not on topic for THR.
