I can buy a Rolling Block, a Swedisch version in 12.7x44R. It looks to be a fine gun but I have some questions and am hoping one of you guys can come up with the answer since my knowledge is limited.

As you can see in the photo's the metal housing, in which the rollers are mounted, is different. It is rounded off and has a very smooth look. Also the butt with the cheak piece looks totally different from a regular Rolling Block.
I am told that this former army rifle was an officer's gun, which would explain the different housing and the butt.

Someone that can give me more information?

Remington didn't make an "Officers' Model" as such, but in this country many officers ordered their higher quality sporting rifles, occasionally customized to meet their particular requirements. One such officer was Gen. George Custer. I think your rifle was custom restocked by someone in Europe. The original owner might or might not have been a military officer.

I should have mentioned this before. This Swedish rolling block is not a Remington, and it is not made in the USA. Most of these Swedish rifles were made by Carl Gustav or Husqvarna. It is a Carl Gustav.
