Here we go again! It's starting off well for us so far, but the senate is where it stalled last time.

OHIO HOUSE PASSES HB12 TO THE OHIO SENATE
______________________________________________

The Ohio House passed House Bill 12 at around 4:40pm today, with a 69-28 "veto proof" majority. (This tally subject to change)

An amendment by Representative Tom Brinkman aimed to make HB12 a "Vermont" piece of legislation was tabled with 77 votes.

House Bill 12 now heads to the Ohio Senate, where it will eventually be assigned to a committee and go through the legislative process again.

Your efforts to appear before the committee and speak in favor of concealed carry reform, and in favor of amendments aimed at fixing problems in this legislation, will be extremely helpful in our effort to pass concealed carry reform. Please consider talking to your friends and family about car pooling to a future HB12 hearing in the Ohio Senate.

Details will be posted to our website as the issue progresses. Numerous news stories will be posted in the near future, and we encourage you to write your local newspaper editors about the overwhelming veto proof majority!

Wait a minute. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but did that post not say they are trying to get Vermont style carry passed AGAIN?

Haven't these fools learned that there is no chance of that passing and becoming law. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. Come on now, even Vermont didn't pass Vermont style carry, it was a court decision.

It is very possible that the Ohio Supreme Court could go and make Vermont style carry legal when they hear the Hamilton Co case. However, trying to get that type of carry passed in the House and Senate and getting Gov. Shaft to sign it is a bloody pipe dream.

I believe that was rejected.

Yes, it was rejected. The current bill is almost identical to the previous bill that was proposed last year.

It's still a good start, and yes there are a lot of hurdles to jump. So far the opposition to the bill has ben using the same anti-gun rhetoric they have always been using. Not to mention that they a lying everyt chance they get about CCW and it's effects on crime.

Hopefully people will see that.
