OK, I've slugged my barrel, NOW WHAT?

I slugged the barrel of my .32-20 S&W and it measured .309 (ridges formed by the rifling) and .308.

Here are my choices for bullets

Magtech- .313

Hornady- .314

Laser Cast- .313

Speer- .314

Hunters Supply- .309


Which, if any, are ok to load, based on their diameter. All are lead, no jacketed.

.309" is way small for a .32-20.
It is hard to get an accurate measurement on a five-groove barrel.
I'd go with whichever of the .313 or .314s is most convenient.

That .309" is probably meant for a Contender which uses a .30 barrel (.308") instead of the standard .32 (.312") barrel.

Yeah, I figured the .309 wasn't an option, I just threw it in the list.

I took a very soft Zero .38spl bullet and tapped it in. When it was mostly in I changed over to a dowel and tapped it thru, peeling off the "mushroom" of lead that folded over the barrel.

SOMEWHERE in all my ammo cans I have a partial box of commercial .32-20. If I can find it I'm going to pull one and measure it. I looked last night, but can "G" wasn't under the bed my list said it was under.
