IMG_0598.JPG IMG_0592.JPG I found my father's old Crosman when cleaning out his house. This model was manufactured between 1959-1969. From what I remember this one has to be @1962 vintage. I hope to get it back to working order again and will probably have to replace the seals. I'll try the trick with oil on the cartridge to soften up the seals again. There was a lot of crusty amber colored gunk near where the face of the CO2 cartridge seats into the gun.(maybe old lubricant?) Before going any further I want to get the pellets that have been in the cylinder for 40yrs out of the gun. Since they're held in with a spring and there is no extractor I'm not sure what's the best way to remove them. Any ideas other than just trying to pick them out? Can I use Crosman 22 cal/5.5mm hollow point 14.3grain pellets in this gun?

Good afternoon,
I have one of these fine 'Peacemaker' revolvers in .177 that I bought when I was a kid. I have kept it through the years and just a couple of years ago, purchased a new main spring and had the seals in the cylinder redone to restore it to like new condition. I could not locate original grips for it but replaced the wood ones that I had put on it in 1980 with a pair of black plastic Chiappa grips which needed a little modification to work well ( somewhat small but doable ) I was turned on to the one remaining Airsmith who could do these repairs (and had a stock of original Crosman parts) by Crosman Support themselves. Here is the link to his site: http://accurateairguns.com/
Good luck and you should be able to get your Fathers Crosman working again.

Thanks for the link, PainlessWolf! Nice looking old Peacemaker. I'm also going to see if some black pvc might work to cover the co2 cartridge.

Stonebuster,
Good afternoon. The finish on your Fathers revolver is exceptional! I forgot to mention previously but a drop of machine oil in each 'chamber' to lube that spring should help in pulling those old pellets. If you still experience issues, get a small drill bit, a #60 or some such and a pin vise and carefully drill a little into each pellets tip to give yourself an easier way to pull them.
regards!
