I can't carry at work and if I could it would be very impractical given the nature of my job. But outside of that, I carry wherever I can legally do so. When walking to the mailbox that might just be an LCRx in a belly band or pocket, although when out and about I prefer to carry something with more capability. Seatbelts you don't wear and a CCW gun you don't carry are both things that won't much help you.

Same with runway that you leave behind !

After many years, I found the answer to "what handgun while showering?" and it's pretty much a Colt Cobra .38 SPL in stainless that I leave on my sink accessible from my sliding shower door.

But interesting to me is all the members that state they cannot legally carry at work. And then we have to remember, that workplace violence is so often the scene of most firearms crime and "mass shootings."

Rather makes one wonder about our priorities, eh?

For 19 years I worked in KY schools where carry would have been a felony (begrudging because I'd been a cop prior to that).
There were no metal detectors and I'm sure I could have carried a Kahr P9 + spare mag in a Smartcarry along with a P3AT in my pocket and not have ever been caught; but, I was not willing to risk the felony.
If I had to work now and was stocking the shelves at Publix or Wal-Mart and the only penalty for carrying was job loss then I'd "probably" carry.

It really does make you wonder, but then again, we've been continually whipped over the decades to not question those in authority, follow their rules, and do as youre told, so its not unexpected.

Most of the places where I was working over the years, both the companies and the jobs we worked on, were almost all NPE's.

Ive carried at least one handgun, all day, every day, my whole adult life, and the only time I didnt carry, was if there were metal detectors present, and that's still what I do to this day.

We all have to do what we think best. I think its best to do as you please and not listen to those who dont have your best interests at heart, and have no obligation to take care of you, rules or not.

Keep in mind, when having these discussions, that there are those who think it best not to disclose, on an internet forum, their involvement in illegal activities or violations of the wishes of private property owners. You probably aren't getting the real picture here.

I got the full picture, trust me. ;)

And if you think about it, youre just taking things to the next level of obedience and following their rules by telling us we shouldnt really be discussing it. ;)

I didn't say you shouldn't discuss it. I said that some people here don't want to. I don't care. I follow all laws and rules all the time.

One of my coworkers was robbed at gunpoint in Opa-Locka. He said he told the cop he wished he had his 357, but It's probably against company policy. I told him it IS against company policy. He said that's what he thought, and he resigned himself to never carrying at work. I told him, yeah, I'd rather die than lose this job. He told me he never thought of it that way.

1911, 2 spare 7-round mags.
Carry everywhere outside, except where prohibited. Right now that's just the post office.
Had to leave it outside while applying for the conceal permit at city hall. There were metal detectors and armed guards at the entrance.
Inside the house it's "close".
Retired.
Kansas.

This morning was my annual visit to the dermatologist. I said to myself; "Self, maybe don't bring the Sig 365 9mm because you'll have to get undressed, bring the Keltec .32"
That's what I did. Sitting in my boxers and sox waiting for the doctor I hear a huge commotion just outside the door. Lot's of yelling F-you and a big crash! I get dressed, get my Keltec in my hand and crack the door and peek out. A crazy woman had gone nuts in the waiting room and thrown down the plexiglass at the receptionist station, yelled obscenities and went storming out.
I assessed the situation saw there was no further threat and went back into the exam room and stayed dressed with my Keltec tucked under my thigh.
* Note to self, bring the Sig everywhere, unless precluded by law.

Something tells me "the law" is going to be much help (to you anyway) when you really need it. :)

No. I consider the realistic armed/unarmed survival differential to be less than wearing a helmet 24/7.
In specific situations where the need for a helmet or CC is elevated I'll do either.

Would a small town bowling alley in Maine fit those specific situations that warrant an elevated need?

Reality is, its simply another small tool you can easily have along on a daily basis, so you dont have to put too much strain or worry on your brain thinking too hard about whether or not a situation might warrant it. Its there if you might need it, just like your pocket knife, Zippo, flashlight, ect.

You're right. A lot more situations where this is true of a helmet, though.

I agree with the helmet, but tell that to all the network news people in Israel on the tube. They all have that armor and helmet on and are all serious when they are reporting, and people are walking all around them in everyday street clothes like its another day at the park.

Good thing theres no big puddles full of water there, or we'd see Anderson "wait til I get situated" Cooper there too telling us how bad things are really getting. "Look!, its up to my chest now and getting worse!". 🤪
