Hi all. While I was browsing the racks at Gander Mtn the other day I noticed a sleek looking tube fed semi-auto 22 made by Hammerli. I really liked the looks and feel of but I had never seen one before so I didnt know much about it. Ive tried to search for info on it but all I can find is the Hammerli website for it and I cant find any in depth reviews. Does anyone on here own one or have had some experience with one? If so what were your impressions. Any help would be appreciated.

I own 2 .22cal Sig Arms pistols built by Hammerli (Trailside). Hammerli is at the top pf the heap for quality target pistols. So I am assuming they put out a great rifle also. Do some research in Bluebook or some other source.

There are a few of the Hammerli sport 22 - semi-auto rifles on GB right now. One is less than $150 !
Looks similar to the Savage 64 and apparently made by Umarex.

I wish Umarex would design their own .22 EBR so they could sell it for less than all the licensed copies already on the market.

Pehaps by adding the right furniture and a box magazine the sport 22 they will have a real winner.

I have one. They are toys. The stock is airgun dimension I could not get the scope far enough forward to use. It has fancy fiber optic light guide sights that are worthless don't have enough adjustment to get the thing sighted in. It was ok with a red dot. The trigger has the longest creep you can imagine. It is huge about half inch of creep. Not heavy but creepy. Fit and finish is good. Made in Mexico. Don't waste your time and money. Get a Marlin model 60 and move on.:)

Yeah, I ran into one of these at Gander Mountain today. They wanted $199 for it. I was surprised because I didn't think that any guns were manufactured in Mexico. The quality seemed ok, though perhaps a little rougher than a Marlin 60. There aren't too many reviews of this rimfire rifle out there, and some are not favorable at all. How long has it been around?

hammerli 22 sport rifle

A great gun, fun the shoot, no hick-ups in 500 rounds. Well made 1.5 mm thick metal receiver no plastics except sights. Very smooth action. Great safety lever. It is much better balanced than a 10-22. Wooden stock is very well made. Soft creepy but not gritty trigger with a 3 lb let off. Shoots less than 1/4inch sized groups for me at 50 ft. with federal and cci ammo. May have a walther barrel like other Umarex guns. I'll try to split a business card with it tommorow. Easy to disassemble and clean and best of all cheap.
