I've been reading all the related threads with interest, and was wondering if you could help me out with my own similar-but-different question.
I'm about to get a non-resident Mass carry permit (to add to my existing NH carry permit) so that I can carry a pistol in my car when I go to work (live in NH, work in Mass). I've been shooting bullseye over the past few years but little else. Because of that, I have a complete disregard for 1911-style slide safeties and so I think I need to look at DAO or DA/SA pistols. I much prefer autoloader to revolver mostly because I'm far more familiar with them and also for greater magazine capacity. I reload .45 and so would actually prefer a caliber other than that (40S&W comes to mind) just so I can keep bullseye and carry separate, but that isn't written in stone. Finally, I'm looking for a pistol that will resist rust and corrosion as part of the time I'm driving a car that rain is somehow leaking into and it'll be sitting out there while I'm in my firearm-free-zone workplace.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
