Pretty cool thread. And I can understand "never shot it"; if you live in a city, don't get to shoot much and own a shotgun, for example. That's what happened to me, anyway.

My list:

Taurus 85 (.38), plain jane full hammer blue steel: Has worked pretty much as advertised, nothing special but it is my first so something special. :)

Taurus 605 (.357): Mine would bind occasionally (unacceptable), but I guess a good one would be decent if they stand up to heavy/long-term usage.

Ruger SP-101: Excellent value, very good (& tough) small-frame .357.

Remington 870 Wingmaster (12 ga): Never shot it (see above), but obviously a quality gun that I wish I kept.

Marlin 336 (.30-30): Feels like an American classic, I am proud to own this gun.

Romanian SKS (7.62 x 39): My cheapest and most fun centerfire rifle to shoot, and probably the best value overall.

Marlin 39A (.22): Great gun, the words of praise are all true.

Marlin 60 (.22): Great value, surprisingly accurate, virtually no mods, made to be a beater/trainer/loaner in my mind.

Marlin 81TS (.22): Not bad at all, was my go-to .22 for years, will do most anything the 39A will... but not nearly as classy.

Savage 24 (.22/.410): Older model from late '60s (inherited), shoots good, great if you are fine with single shot (which I am); pretty heavy, though.

Mossberg 500 (12 ga): It works; that's all I ask of it - I wish my barrel was a little shorter, but that's not the gun's fault.

Beretta 21A (.22) - Worked as advertised, hated no extractor though and just too "mousey" for me.

No-name DA revolver (.22): "Awful" is as much review as this gun ever deserved.

I'll add to the list:

Stephens single-shot .410 circa 1950 -- The first gun I shot, now its the first my nephew has shot

Fox sweet 16 double barrel circa 1955-- Still the best balancing shotgun I've ever shot.

Ruger 10/22-- why on earth did I get rid of this rifle?

Browning .22 Belgain, circa 1965-- too collectible to feel comfortable hunting with

Remington 700 ADL 30-06, circa 1965-- Incredible, lost to home burglary

Remington 700 BDL 30-06 circa 1975-- Great, lost to home burglary

Remington 1100 12 gauge-- liked but never balanced like I would have liked

Ruger Security-Six .357 Magnum-- loved it, gave it to my dad who still carries it.

Colt Peacekeeper .357 Magnum-- not the best worksmanship, illegally confiscated in a routine roadblock in New Orleans and was given a reciept to pick it up on the next Monday-- Mysteriously vanished from NOPD locker-- no compensation.

Olympic Arms XM-177A2 clone-- Excellent rifle to beat around with.

HK 91A2 circa 1987 preban wide forearm-- Oh WHY did I sell this?

Glock 19-- LOVE it, LOVE it, LOVE it... wife carries it now.

SAR-1 AK-47 clone... Great beat-around gun, lost to buglarly.

Century L1A1-- Took a lot of tweeking to get right, never liked the grip angle-- lost to buglary.

Vector AK-47 underfolder clone-- Excellent truck gun, my protection at the office and on the road.

Saiga 308-1 AK clone, converted to Pistol grip with 8X PSOP scope-- AMAZINGLY accurate, solid rifle-- LOVE it.

Next Purchases:

Yugo Mauser-- if I can find one with good rifling and bore, good stocks
Mosin Nagant 91/30-- If I can find one with good rifling and bore, good stocks

A gun safe will be the best investment you ever make for your firearms.

Not meaning to step on toes on the following - just me you understand

Benelli Nova - Since you bought the other one I broke, want to buy this one too?
Only broken 8 of these of things - so far.

Benelli Monteferlos and other Benelli Makes I have won- about a dozen all total
Won another of these damn things, still NIB , whatcha got in 1911s, K frames, SX1s...etc Never kept a one, only one taken out its box for a picture.

Glock 26 - Aw hell, why could not I have not dropped low 5 and won the Model 70 in '06 instead? you guessed it, won two of these, never fired them and traded them for something else.

Lorcin .380 Lookee here done won a pistol with pink grips, I broke my Benelli winning streak got some practical jokers in the prize dept, won this gun and traded it for something, at least I did not win a dozen pair of panty hose...like my male shooting pard did :p

Wheel Gun - I need one really bad
870 Wingmaster - Mine because Dad passed on

lots more but I'll stop for now !!!!!!

M-1 (march 1944 production): Paid ransom to South Korea when I was a college kid and gold to SA for new barrel and gas system and long ago stopped desiring an M-14/M1a.

M-1 (1954-55 production): Had 2nd child so I needed another to pass down that was cherry.

Colt Model 1903 .32ACP pocket hammerless: You feel like Bogey when you pick it up and delight in what a little .32 CAN be--one class act.

mini-14: Get back to me when Ruger starts caring about quailty control on this model instead of new sights and doo dads for it.

10/22: Something that is still a bargain and that Ruger does right.

I know I wrote in on this earlier but I have a few additions:

Marlin 55 goose gun: Dad gave me the duck boat, and said I had to take the gun with it. (I watched him make a double on canvasbacks from the boat with it when I was a kid... I have no idea how he did it!)

Charles Daly field 20 gauge: Everyone needs a 20, and the price was good, so why not?

Remington 700 classic .35 Whelen: It's pretty, it shoots great, and it's capable for anything in North America.

Ruger 10-22: inherited this from my uncle who used it for pest control, this gun is ridiculuosly accurate.

Remington No. 1 rolling block mid-range sporter: I got this beauty from a guy who bought it from the custom shop, had it for 3 years, and didn't shoot it. His loss.

Negative reviews:

Browning Hi-Power 9mm--I fed it the best ammo, but still it bit me!
Browning Hi-Power .40--DO NOT assume that the recoil spring is like that of a 9mm!
EAA Witness .45--Great, I've always wanted a gun I could also use better as a boat anchor!
Star Megastar .45--Why am I reminded of an underpowered, high-capacity Desert Eagle?
Colt Delta Elite--Shoots good, looks good, but the rattles and play worried me.
Smith & Wesson 4006--At last, a Smith I DO NOT like!
Dornaus & Dixon Bren Ten Marksman Special .45--Nice-looking pistol and great trigger, but of questionable quality.
Smith & Wesson 657 (earlier model)--Very accurate, but with those grips I feel like I've been rubbing my palm over a cheese grater!
Dan Wesson Model 15-2--Accurate, good shooting, but big and heavy, and it locked up after only about 200 rounds!
Llama Minimax .380--With this many jams, I could put Stuckey's out of business!

Positive reviews:

Smith & Wesson 5906--Easily the best of the American-made wondernines!
M.A.B. P-15--Not the prettiest pistol I've owned, by, my, does it shoot well!
Marlin Model 94 in .44 Magnum--Very fun, especially with .44 Specials!
Ruger Vaquero .45 Long Colt--They can stop making single action revolvers with this one! (Unfortunately, they did! It was the old model! :banghead: )
FIE Arminius Hombre .44 Magnum--Good quality, great shooting SAA near-clone--but DO NOT EVER dry-fire!

There might be more later. I'm not sure.
