The foiled carjacking I saw in a post today on THR reminded me of a question I've left unvoiced for a long time. Namely, does anyone keep an online listing / clipping collection of "good guy wins" use of armed force in self defense, and / or stats about all the good, low-abiding licensees and how little crime they're associated with?
It seems like something that *should* exist somewhere, but I've never bumped into it. I did see a book (which I have not yet actually read) with a collection of stories in which armed citizens fended off bad guys; I think the author was Chris Bird (last name Bird at any rate), and I certainly see some links to stories about same here on THR, but I'm wondering if there's a more dedicated source of such information. It would be nice to be able to point such a site out people who claim the usual conventional wisdom about dangerous, anthropomorphic guns leaping about and killing people, or exclusively "criminal" gun use.
Has anyone found such a site?
