Went into a coffee stand today and immediately spied a buffoon open carrying. Older gentlemen with a what looked like a Shield on his right hip, complete with a flag painted on the grip. He was leaning heavily on his cane, using his right hand and arm, talking to one of the workers. Anyone could have pulled that pistol and put one in his head without any trouble.

Keep them concealed, people. Don't make yourself the first target or arm the bad guy.

And if this was you, in the St George Utah Starbucks, get a IWB holster and conceal it.

Thats always my fear of carrying, and I also cant use the IWB because my pelt is tight to hold my pants up, as I dont have enough A** to do it. But the bigest reason is that the rear of the slide rubs aginst my side, and is for the most part uncomfortabe to wear. So I opted for the belly band holster type. its OS the waist band, and yet is still tucked tight aginst my side. and a shirt covers it fully. so it a little of both.

I get the annoyance with IWB. My conceal carry is mostly OWB except when deep concealment is necessary. Then I go IWB. Even in summer I carry OWB CC by wearing an untucked polo shirt. Yes, there us some printing, but not enough to concern me. Personally, I do not care if folks wonder whether I am carrying a gun. I carry OWB for comfort and speed of drawing. That tops being concerned about other people’s suspicion.

I would be a bit easy calling people buffoons and jerks for exercising their right to open carry where it's legal. Open carry is right guaranteed by my state's constitution. Concealed carry isn't. If I actually see the need in a tense situation, I will be carrying LOUD and PROUD. I would thank you guys to be a little polite about it. And have a bit of respect for your elders.

That's kinda harsh, and ignorant, to say about someone you don't know! I didn't read anything in your post that equates to buffoonery. You don't know what you don't know. How about next time you see someone open carrying you try to take it and see what happens (I really wouldn't recommend that).

You either must be new to Utah, or carrying there. I lived there for 14 years, and it was more uncommon for a day to go by that I DIDN'T see someone open carry.

Again, pretty harsh for calling someone a buffoon just for open carry. Who needs enemies like Pelosi when we're pretty good at attacking and tearing down one another over how we carry!

That's how I roll too-OWB, untucked polo shirt and my wardrobe is always "tailored" to facilitate unobstructed access and draw. It doesn't matter how cold it is outside, that weapon is just as accessible as if it was 80°and my draw will not be impeded in any way so the jacket is unzipped and the gloves ain't on my hands. Boo Hoo, it's cold outside. Suck it up.

It's possible the gentleman in question had mental issues and needed a bit of help.

I don't mind when someone open carry's. But when they look like a mall ninja. That bothers me. Just my little pet peeve. There was a young man OC in walmart. I gave him a friendly reminder walmart don't allow it anymore. He was waiting to go for his CCW.
