Unless I'm mistaken, Texas law states that a folder can have a blade no longer than 3.5 inches from handle end to point when open. 5 or 5.5 inches (one of those) are the legal limit for fixed blades in TX BUT, if you do wear a fixed blade, it must not be in any way concealed, covered, or in a pocket. This I have been harassed about when my jacket covered the top of the handle of a fixed blade of only 4 inches blade length.
