I was wondering what the general opinion was on a Nikon Monarch X 2.5-10x44SF M IL MD scope.

It would be going on a 20"bbl 6.5 Grendel.

Anyone with experiance/use on this peice of glass?

I have two Monarchs, two Burris FFII's, and a Simmons Aetec Master. The Monarch is far and away the best of what I have. They are not a Zeiss or Kahles, but they are wonderful scopes with an excellent reputation.

I have not used that particular scope, but I do have a Nikon 3-9x40 Monarch and compared to my 3.5-10x40 Leupold Vari-XIII, the Nikon is the brighter, clearer, and more vibrant scope. I have not compared one side-by-side with the newer VX-III series which is supposed to be the updated equivalent to the Vari-XIII. I believe these are supposed to be brighter and may be closer to the Monarch in terms of image quality.

If you got a screaming deal, I would go for it. They have a solid reputation and if you like the glass and reticle, then go for it!
