I'm wondering if anyone out there has the above gun boot attached to there ATV, and if so what are the opinions on the sturdiness, usefulness, ease of getting the rifle/shotgun out and in use? I have a Can Am Outlander, and at my age I don't go full steam ahead. What I'm concerned about, will it protect my firearm, and hold zero on my scoped rifles?

I have a Polaris gun boot on my ATV. It's not a quick draw set up. I had to stuff padding in the bottom of the gun boot for the barrel tip to rest on so the front of the scope didn't bang on the front of scope cut out in the boot. Other than that I have hauled a scoped shotgun over many rough miles without affecting scope zero.

I thank ya frogfur, however, the one I'm thinking about is the Koplin 6.0, according to the add it is supposed to be the cat's meow, as far as getting your firearm out etc. Would appreciate someone here of giving me the skinny on it if you actually have one.

I have a Kolpin that is 3 years old. It is similar to the 5.0 but the mounting is different. It does an excellent job in protecting the rifle and I haven't had any problems with the scope losing zero. I really like it because it gives me so many different ways of mounting it. front or back rack, forward, backward or side ways. and it adjust for preferred angle.

I thank ya toiville,, I just ordered the 6.0 Koplin along with the mount. I don't go all that fast with the ATV, however I do go in some pretty rough terrain.

I got the Koplin gun boot and the bracket about a week ago and had the opportunity to try it out just this past Friday. I placed my Howa .223 with a 4X16 Bushnell scope on it in the boot, and headed off up into the hills behind my home here bright and early in the morning. Using an old power line trail up to a nearby spring where I've seen cougars, bobtails, and coyotes on prior outings, I set up between a couple of big boulders and waited for daylight. I used my injured rabbit call. Note: I didn't have any problem at all of getting my rifle out of the scabbard, and the subsequent, and only shot proved my scope was right on, even after going over some pretty rough terrain to get out to that specific spot. My shot was just about 150 yards (coyote) according to my range finder, and the 52grn Sierra bt/hp hit right behind the left shoulder as directed. Anyway to make a long story short I do believe that set up is going to be just fine, when I head up to Flagstaff area for elk this December.
