It appears that the boys at Sig fixed the trigger problems on the P365. Primer strikes were the problem, so we were told. The new P365XL looks promising. Any thoughts on the subject!?!

I have two P365XL's as well as two P365's as they're my carry guns, and I wanted a backup for each. 3 of the 4 went back to Sig for light primer strikes, the last being a P365XL that was sent back a couple of weeks ago. Per Sig, they replaced the recoil springs on all of them, fixing the problem. Sig is still having problems with the quality control for their recoil springs. They're fantastic carry guns (for me), but don't be surprised if you purchase one that needs to go back to Sig for repair. The good news is that mine were fixed correctly and I haven't had issues with them since.

Iffy quality control aside the XL doesn't seem quite as revolutionary to me in terms of the packaging compared to the regular 365. I'd prefer a 2.0 Compact 3.6" - it's just a bit bigger and the 2.0 M&P's are rock solid.

I'm a big fan of the M&P 2.0's. Back issues mean I need to pocket carry, and the P365's work best for me in regards to size, capacity, reliability (once Sig repaired them) and how well I shoot them. If I could still carry IWB a number of guns, including the M&P 2.0 would be at the top of my list.

Interesting as I have 2 365s and haven't had any issues; both go bang every single time with a wide variety of ammo, including reloads.

That's good to hear. To be clear, I wasn't knocking them as they are pretty much my exclusive carry guns (XL when I'm wearing pants with pockets deep enough to conceal it and the P365 when I'm not). I just wanted to set the OP's expectations correctly, that if he buys one he may still have light primer strike issues. If he does, I'm sure Sig will make it right as they did with mine.

I have one of the 365's with both 10 and 12 round magazines. They will take the 15 round mags. I bought the gun to carry IWB for concealment. But I shoot it ALMOST as well as a full size gun, and with 12 round magazines it isn't TOO hard to still carry concealed. In fact It has pretty much replaced my G19 for OWB carry.

I don't have the XL version, and may not get one. I'm sorta thinking I may buy some 15 round mags for the standard gun and call it good.

I could have written this post myself. I love those 12 round mags - that makes the gun fit my hand just great.

Here's an opinion: the SIG P-365XL is one superb pistol. The ergonomics are second-to-none, the trigger pull is exemplary, the accuracy is outstanding, and I love this little pistol more than any other new handgun I've ever picked up. For those that continue to insist that the little Glocks are better pistols, just try one of these babies.

I've had ZERO issues, and thousands of rounds downrange with all three of my 365s.

You're kidding, right? Third post before someone arrives to denigrate the gun. What's your experience with the 365XL ... and just where do you people come up with this crap? "Iffy" quality control? Seriously, get off the 'net, go out and actually shoot and be around people who shoot these guns.

Relax dude. It was actually the second poster who mentioned that three of his four 365/365XL pistols had to get sent back to Sig, not me. I just stated that [this part coming up is important], iffy QC issues aside, I don't think the 365XL is as revolutionary in terms of packaging compared to it's little brother relative to what else is available on the market. I don't see any reason anybody should take offense to that opinion.

It's the smallest optic ready option on the market that I know of. That's a big deal to those of us who have trouble seeing iron sights anymore. One thing I like about the regular P-365 is I can shoot those sights very well even without glasses, an optic would be sweet though.

I'm waiting on an adapting plate to mount my Trij RMR :)

Will post pics when done including the great holsters I've found.

I shot a range rental standard P365 and was very impressed. It shot and recoiled more like a larger gun than the small packaged gun that it is.

The recoil is easily managed and I imagine several hundred rounds of practice being very comfortable. The sights are great and easy to pick up. The grip is small for me but certainly workable with good technique. The trigger is smooth and breaks very cleanly. I had no problem hitting center mad at 20 yards.

I have no doubt the XL is just as nice.

I’ll probably end up with one or the other in the next few years.

The relative I sold my 365 to just got the XL and he's spoken very highly of it, says it shoots great and has been perfectly reliable.

Hoping he gets so excited about it he decides to get rid of his VBob so I can snag another on the cheap :D

Does somebody currently make an adapting plate or are you waiting for someone to come out with one? If one's available now can you tell me who? I can't find one.

I'm told they should be getting them in stock today (I ordered a few weeks ago)

OP,

If you're thinking about getting one, I'd recommend it. I jut got back from my gun club where I was shooting a number of 9's, including a CZ P10, Gen 5 Glock 19, Glock 48 and the P365XL. We're allowed to shoot as quickly as we want, as long as it's controlled. I was shooting pretty quick, practicing double and triple taps, with spreads the size of a volleyball with the other guns. My spread was the size of a baseball with the XL with noticeably less felt recoil (for me). That it shoots that well and has the capacity it does for such a small, light concealable gun is the reason I carry them. Don't let my returns for repair scare you away from them. They've been 100% reliable since I got them back from Sig, with quite a few rounds through each. I haven't counted, but I'm guessing at least 1000 rounds through each without a failure. They really are fantastic guns.

I suggest you try for yourself.

I haven't shot one but I've handled a regular 365 in store. I dont care if it held 15 rounds it's still to small for me. Very reminiscent of my old LC9S as far as the size of the grip. I would assume the XL is just longer.

I'll keep my wider and still very concealable G26 with extended mag thanks.

YMMV....

Agree on all points, except I actually owned a 365 briefly

Just topped 1000 rounds thru my XL, and not a single malfunction with either the 12 or the 15 round magazines. Sooooo much easier to CC than my P320C. I've already ordered a RomeoZero; hopefully Optics Planet has 'em to ship soon.

If I had a complaint, it's that the grip needs just a little bit more padding for my largish hands. I'm still waiting on Hogue to make a sleeve grip for the XL.

P365 and the XL version had Very shaky releases to the market with huge numbers of problem s and gun s needing to be returned.

The only new gun I ever bought that had to be returned due to unacceptable failure s to fire, mostly from light primer strikes was a p365.

This Is from personal experience Shooting.

Plus Sig. Customer service was Horrible, Ruger and Savage 10 times better.

Yes definitely Iffy to put out so many dysfunctional guns, especially for one intended for EDC. Shame on Sig!

I had to get rid of mine even After Sig. Claimed they fixed it.

That said, Many of them work Great and are Very Accurate especially for such a small piece, in the case of the P 365.
Buying P365 XL Defeat s the whole point of this gun.
I got a used one from someone who actually fell for the XL version and I Love it.
This one was one that didn't happen to be a lemon, and If you are lucky enough to get a used one of those for around $300 like I did, you hit the pocket carry Jackpot.
Shockingly Accurate.

That said, the Ruger SR40C and SR9C are Better at a fraction of the price, and almost as concealable.
