Optics on Russian service rifles

with Ukraine in the news I noticed "unidentified" Russian troops sent in tended to not have optics of one sort or another on their rifles the way most American troops have now. I noticed one pic that looked like an EO-tech type sight mounted on it, but most looked bare.

So do the Russians pretty much just stick with iron sights on rifles at this point?

I noticed in one film clip on the news that one soldier had what looked like a copy of a cheap BSA 30mm red dot. I don't know what the make or durability of the one on his AK was, though.

They don't put optics on for police actions. They likely have them in a case on their uniforms.

This is most of what they have available. Like most things Russian, they are durable, if you get the actual military model.

FWIW, I sold Soviet military optics for a number of years until my overseas source dried up. While their binos are extremely well made, I found their scopes to not be. Also, the Kalinka brand optics are made for commercial export, and are not made to the same high standards of Soviet/Russian milspec optics.
