Looking for a locking wall safe/cabinet for 2 or 3 long guns. V-line closet vault is a little too much $$ and extends 2" from wall. I could swear I saw a Stack-On somewhere but I'll be danged if I can find it. Homak makes one but wondering if anybody knows of any others in the under-$200 range? or is the V-line worth the almost $600?
I'm planning on installing something flush mount in a bedroom closet. Other layers of security are already in place.
Thanks

Someone had a great idea once that involved putting an electrical circuit breaker cover panel over a hiding space in the wall. One mounted in a closet would not attract attention and they have locking ones also.
They don't offer physical protection, but what thief is going to go to the trouble of prying one open?
I actually thought about putting a false wall in the end of a closet to provide maybe one foot of storage space.

I'm going to do something similar. I don't have all the details ironed out yet but here is the general idea. I'm gonna use a smallish clothes closet. Use the narrow wall and take the drywall out completely and get a a smooth cut of plywood or similar. Sand if needed and paint it like the closet. Put hinges on one side and catches on the other side and top and bottom so that it has a snug closure fit. You would have yo gift the hinges and catches with something. You would have 3-5 16" pockets for guns. I understand they would burn. This would only be to hide them in case of a break in. I'm sure some of these thoughts will be upgraded by some of you guys. It's just a rough idea I've been tossing around.

If you are hiding guns from burglars (common thieves), that is one thing, if from certain other "eyes" it is something else as I believe the technology is there for things to be seen inside of buildings from the outside, like high-up outside. Kind of like a huge MRI.

I agree, a false wall would be best.
