Even convicted fellons can carry walking canes, even on airplanes! They are protected by the Americans with Disabilities Act as medical equipment, just like wheel chairs. The police can't even enquire into the nature of your disability as that is confidential medical information.

I delivered pizzas for a few months after I retired from the Army on terminal leave. I had an experience with someone following me closely, tailgating if you will, with the high beams on late at night. Not wanting to have to shoot anyone, when I came to a stop sign in a dark neighborhood way out in the country, I stopped, picked up my 1,000,000 candlepower portable spotlight that I used to look for addresses and street signs, turned in my seat, and lit up the closely following car from about 10 feet. The two back doors on the follower had opened, but no one got out because it must have been like looking into the sun in that car. I turned off the light and drove away. They didn't show up again that night.

If I were your friend, I'd have headed for the nearest police station before making my delivery.

That's one thing a lot of people forget. At night a super strong flashlight (300+ lumens) is a good defensive weapon that buys you time to disorient your enemy and give you enough time to get away.

Driving lessons.

Allow me to toss in driving lessons are another "strategy and tactic". I for sure could use a "brush up" on all this, still I have always felt we all could use a "brush up" from time to time.

Now I come up and spent time in a interesting work. Driving lessons for me included defensive, aggressive, assertive, and offensive driving.

That said, I ain't ever had a problem pulling into a Law Enforcement, Fire Dept. or EMT, and laying on the horn. We are still speaking of Mindset, Skillsets, "then" Toolsets.

Yes, I had other "tools" be it a firearm, knife, flashlight, cane, and the like, still the vehicle itself is a "tool" and a very good one I might add. Just one needs to keep on top of their game in regard to "reading the room", Mindset, skillsets to use whatever "tool sets" is afforded them.

had a funny one the other day. the psycho was a woman. and hitting a woman is complicated. i started filming her with phone and when she started shrieking "what are you doing!" i said "streaming this to the police. she got in her car and left quickly

A fellow on foot, holding a bat, approached my vehicle from the front while I was stopped at an intersection. He was making some very specific verbal threats.

I very delieberately dropped the vehicle into low and then hunched over the wheel with my best "maniac grin".

I have never seen a fellow run that fast before. Jettison bat, about face, and Warp 8 departure. Road Runner got smoked.

I had the deadlier weapon.

if you have to hit a woman you darn well better be able to justify it or face crucifixion
she was lucky i had my 4 year old in car. i get a bit protective

I just don't understand the concept of being "run off the road". Either someone is going to hit you or you drive off the road. Don't drive off the road, let the dbag hit you so there is some evidence on his vehicle. Most people won't hit another car, they just get menacingly close in the hopes that you suck at driving and get scared, driving off the road.
