Does anyone have experience with paddle holsters? I've got a M&P 340 that I'd like to be able to slip on and off my belt - thanks for your input!

I have several paddle holsters, and for me,they are hard to CCW with.the added "paddle" makes them stand off my hip.ok for open carry, but not a plus for hidden carry. jwr

Thanks, yeah, I've found the same thing with my paddles for my semi-autos, I was hoping the j-frame would do better......Has anyone tried the Blackhawk Serpa?

Has anyone tried the Blackhawk Serpa?

I have one for my Glock 22, and love it. I like the extra security of the retention. Don't have one for my 360PD yet, and probably won't. Same problem jwr747 had with the paddles. The Blackhawk sticks out too far for easy concealment. It can be done, just not easily.

I've got the Serpa CQC for my 642. It really fits well for my body. It comes with the paddle and the belt hook-up. I also have one for my XD-40

I never owned a paddle but have like the ideal of one. Back when the wife got promoted to sgt. investigator she had to go look for clothes since she a blue jean and t-shirt girl. At first she couldn't fine pant suits that would use a thick belt for her gear so i suggested a paddle holster we went to a local gun shop to look at them and was not able to fine one that didn't stick the weapon out too much i guess it just a charater of the design.

Danny Reed of Reed Gun Leather built one for me and my buddy.

They work great and fit the gun like a glove.

I had the Blackhawk Serpa and gave it to my buddy, but when he saw my leather holster that Danny Reed made for me, he gave it to one of his buddies, and got Danny Reed to make him one like mine.

That hard plastic of the Blackhawk digs into my skin, the leather holster is smooth and does not bother me. In my opinion the little extra money for the custom leather one is well worth it.

I picked up a Galco paddle holster for a S&W model 60. The holster is not good for concealed - but, I use it with the paddle securing it to the compartment on the door of my truck. It positions it for easy access.
