Going to start carrying my M&P 9c I really like the pancake style for my PT1911 but want to cut down in the weight. Who makes a quality but reasonably priced leather holster for the 9c

Everybody that makes a pancake holster, probably makes a pancake holster for the M&P9c. It is a popular gun.

Edit to add: While there is probably no difference in availability, I suspect it makes a difference whether it is an M&P Compact 1.0 or 2.0.

What you consider "reasonably priced" is the question.

I always figure $100 to be a ball park figure to start your search for a leather holster. Some may be a little less, but if you get down below the $80 range, you may start to give up some quality. If you're over $200, you're probably paying for some exotic skin, or from a very limited production maker.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by 1.0 and 2.0?

I bought this a few years ago for my M&P. It was a couple of days late. Without prompting, company apologized and issued a credit. Still got the holster, held up well, comfortable. Gave it to my father when I moved the M&P to nightstand duty with a light.

The original M&P (that we now call 1.0) "Compact" was, size-wise, between a G19 and G26.

The new M&P "Compact" which would be an M&P 2.0 is G19 size.

Edit to add: I also think there are two barrel lengths on the M&P 2.0 Compact

Are any of the recommendations already given close to what you're looking for? Do you have a price range? I can make other recommendations if you have something particular in mind.

OK, i have the 1.0. I bought it about 10 or so years ago. 12 + 1 mag. no safety, ( think they made it with or without). Thanks for the info., very helpful.

My 2.0 rides in a TT gunleather holster. I have been impressed with the quality, fit and finish and have no reservations about recommending them to anyone else. Price looks like about 130 for one of theirs now.

Here's a pic of mine made for a Hi-Power. $49 delivered and it only took about a week to get it. Pretty good leather and well made. It's not a Sparks but it's the best holster deal I know of.

+1 on Azula. I just this week got a 2 slot pancake for my Taurus 605. Got it inless than a week for $54 shipped. It is a plain jane tan leather just like above but it is well constructed. Since I just got it I can't comment on longevity but it rides nice and tight.

My basic, go-to pancake is the DeSantis Speed Scabbard. I've also owned a Wright Gunleather pancake that I think was called a Predator. Very nice holster, but pricier.

Mitch Rosen 5JR holster... I've used nothing but these holsters for many years, have had them for Glock 36, 19, and 32, and now use one with a thumb break for the M&P 2.0c 9mm.

Take a look at 1791 Gunleather. I’ve been impressed with their holsters and their price. You can find them on Amazon or if you order from them, they offer a discount on your first purchase.
