I just recently posted about a new-to-me Para 7.45 LDA I purchased to go with the other one I already had. Here's the link: HERE
Well, I put 250 rounds through it since I got it and it started not firing every 20th or 30th round. The hammer and trigger are seemingly working properly but the hammer stops just short of the firing pin, weird right. With full disclosure the guy I bought it from is a friend and he told me the gun was having issues but I didn't care as I have a LOT of 1911s and I have a working extra of that same gun anyways. I figured if it went down I'd fix it and still be happy as the 5" LDA guns are gone and good one are becoming impossible to find.
Well, I called CS and they e-mailed me a form to fill out and I was honest. I told them that I have no idea how many owners there have been, how many rounds have been fired, and I'd be willing to pay for repairs. They e-mailed me back and said they are fixing a gun for free under a warranty that was made while they were still Para-Ord and before they offered lifetime warranties. And they are sending me a check to reimburse my shipping!
Awesome!!
Well, I got the gun back yesterday and I basically have a new gun. And remember this is a gun that was made before they had a lifetime warranty; so, they could have charged me the $203 for the repair but they didn't.
I called them about the new hammer, as I prefer the appearance of the old hammer, and they said it was beyond repair and that the new hammers actually have a shorter travel than the older version. Below is the hammer at rest and at its furthest point of travel.
I am very happy with their CS and now I need to buy another Para; probably that 6" 10mm.
