I just bought a Williams WGRS rear peep sight for my Remington 7615 and am curious to the exact method of how one should aim it. Before I bought this sight I only had one gun with a peep and it is too inaccurate of a gun to really even need sights (think tennis ball size groups at 5 feet), so I never really bothered to learn the proper technique with a peep.
I know standard open sights are pumpkin on a post; But are peep sights the same? Any techniques those are special when using a peep. I am planning on using it out to about 100yds.

Pictures always help too.

From someone else who uses iron sites , very good post , nice reference.
And after you practice a few hundred rounds it will become automatic , and very fast .

Pumpkin on a post. 6 O Clock position. Always focus on the front sight and not the target, of course you will see the target but focus on the front sight. Draw one of these (/) on the front post with a lead pencil. It will get you to focus on the front sight.
