Peep sight for Ruger No 1

I just acquired a No.1 in 45-70 and am debating between putting a scope on it or possibly some type of peep sight. Since my eye sight is not what it used to be I need a fair amount of help over the factory open sight.
Any suggestions?
If I do go with a scope I want something lower power.

Haven't looked at a No 1 recently but ages ago I had a Williams Foolproof installed had to have it drilled and tapped by a gunsmith. Oddly enough that was a 45/70 as well.
