Peruvian Assault Pistol

I can only say that based on my time in Peru, if the pistol is as-unreliable-as every other aspect of "life" that I regretfully experienced in country, I would not be too worried about facing it. I would be worried about using it.

I will not tolerate that kind of comments about my country. Edit that RIGHT NOW. If you didn't like your visit, you are the one missing out.

MODS: Please, I don't think you would tolerate that kind of comments if someone was referring to the USA.

The regular Nambu is not that ugly. The Type 94 is! Rogelio sorry you were offended here but I'm sure the mods will deal with your concerns fairly, I personally would have taken your issues to a private message.

I've never visited Peru, but I had a very dear friend from there. And I though pisco was from Chile? I'm joking!

I suppose if it's reliable and accurate, easy and inexpensive to manufacture, then good for the Peruvians. But I could swear I saw Han Solo using something that looked like that in Star Wars. :uhoh:

I wouldn't want to have to use it much beyond 10 feet, but it sure puts a lot of firepower in a thigh holster.

Nah, those were Sterling SMGs.

Han Solo - Broomhandle Mauser
Storm Troopers (including Luke and Solo dress as Storm Troopers) - Sterling SMGs and MG42 MGs, I think.

Tis truly

one of the fugliest guns ever. Im not quite sure what the lever on the front of the grip is.... perhaps a melon baller for those late night cocktail hours after work.

Maybe it is for shucking clams...

All in all, a truly great design! I must have one to go with my AMC Pacer and my baby blue leisure suit.

OK, I this thread has been dragging on for a while, but I have to defend the unknown Peruvian gun designer.

That big ugly thing at the front of the grip looks to be a grip safety, a very nice thing to have when you a have a simple gun firing from an open bolt. Ever hear how much fun a Sten can be when you drop it? Want to see somebody dance REALLY fast?

If those long grooves on either side of the receiver mean it can still take an M3 Grease Gun-style wire stock, I'd say it's about perfect for what it's intended to be - better than the usual pistol as a poor man's PDW.

With the two handed grip you have basically a tiny 9mm carbine that even inexperienced shooters can still hit something with at 50 yards. With a wire stock, make that 100 yards. Semi-auto means they won't use up all their ammo too quickly (and therefore don't have to carry so much). And in a pinch, it can still be drawn from a holster (or a single point sling) and fired like a pistol.

All in all, I think it's a lot better than a normal pistol if it's the only weapon you're issued, and it's probably cheap to make, and they make it in their own country.

Go, Peru! :D

actually it almost resembles a attempt at a standard reciever for a larger sumachine gun, but outfitted with a "pistol" upper.

it resembles a weapon system that maybe never made the light of day, but the pistol version stayed on.

Never seen a Peruvian Assault Pistol.

Just a Polish Target Pistol.
