That’s right, a new Baby. Well, BABY838.
A couple of weeks ago a coworker asked it I had a 22 pistol they could borrow. Her ex-mother in law was wanting to try shooting a 22, but was afraid of guns and didn’t like recall.
I let her borrow a Sig Mosquito and a S&W 22A with a Millet red dot sight.
When my coworker brought them back she said that she loved the 22A.
The next week my coworker said that ex-mother in law had tried a few other 22s, but said that she wanted a S&W 22A.
My coworker said that this woman is very small and very ladylike. And that when she had shot a 9 mm, she complained that the recoil had hurt her shoulder. But she was after her husband to buy her a S&W 22A.
Yesterday I told my coworker that I would be willing to sell the 22A.
She called her ex-in laws to let them know that I was willing to sell them the pistol. They asked if I was willing to trade it for a like new Glock 43 in the box.
I really didn’t need another Glock 43 but decided that I could sell it later on.
They stopped by the lab today and we made the trade. I left the red dot on the pistol and also gave them the extra mag I had.
She said that she was very happy that I was willing to make the trade because she was never going to shoot the Glock again.
Her husband told me that they had only shot about 10 rounds in the Glock.
As they handed me the Glock they pointed out that the SN# was BABY838. So now I have a new Baby.

I was expecting a .50 AE or other howitzer with a “baby” moniker...

Nice trade, sounds like you’ve made a friend who will keep on shooting now that she’s got a .22 she likes .

Stay safe.

As I read the first sentence I thought “Baby838”...must be something new...I guess it is. Just not what I thought. :)

Sounds like everybody involved got a new “baby”.

Got to love that serial number prefix! Goes perfectly with a Baby Glock!

Just don’t put your baby in the corner.

Knowing what I paid for my 22a, you made a super deal. The S&W is a very accurate target pistol.that demands a good hot round to function. At least mine does. Some cheap 22's like Federal often have weak rounds that fail to fully function the transmission of the 22a. I have to learn dis-assembly all over again when I clean it or maybe learn to give it a proper lube job.

The 22A that I traded was in very good shape. It functioned with just about anything you fed it.
Disassembly is pretty easy, just don’t launch the spring across the room.

I have a 19c with the prefix TAL0xx... Should sell it to someone who works there since it looks like an O anyhow.
