Picked up my won Echelon today

I picked up my new Echelon [threaded barrel] today. Took a chance, of course, since I've not held one yet,...but luckily, I find that it feels better in my hand than my CZ P-09 by quite a bit, actually. Trigger feels pretty good. Not excellent, needless to say, but pretty good. Doing a trigger check and I can keep the front site steady when it clicks. Fairly short take up as well. All in all, I am glad I got it.

I plan on eventually selling the CZ,...but not for awhile. Market it is horrible at the moment.

No need to include pictures. You can find them on the interwebs. Looks like that.

A compact of this would be quite nice, I'm sure.

With how this is,....maybe my carry gun should be a Hellcat. 🤔

I'm awaiting a 10mm variant.

This speaks volumes:
It's true. Now,....having said that,...the metal frame CZs still feel about as good. And, of course, how something feels to a person is subjective, so someone else may like the feel of the CZ P-09 more. And maybe I was a tad bit rash when I said "by quite a bit". I do like the feel of the Echelon more, for sure.

Congrats on the new gun. As to the market, prices seem higher than ever on the internet sites and local gun shops!

Oddly, my gun store was saying that sales are very low. Could be the part of the country. I didn't really check prices much,...but ammo is certainly higher.

Okay, so a couple nights ago, I replaced the back strap of the CZ with the small and it feels better...almost as good as the Echelon. So that's better.

I think the difference is the design of the back of the grip. The CZ is more rounded and the Springfield is less rounded...and that more rounded feel on the CZ sometimes makes it not feel very secure. The small insert is better than the medium,...in my hand.

Agreed. It gets slippery with sweaty hands. I put a Talon Pro grip on mine.

I may do that. May not sell it after all.....so I guess that will mean that I'll have two full sized handguns. But I would bet most people on this forum have more full sized 9mm pistols than even two, so..........
I just don't shoot much more than 22lr these days and only planned on the one 9mm pistol.

Since I am clueless about many things including an Echelon and you posted no picture I had to Google it to what you wound up with. Here is a  on your new toy. To quote Henry Fonda's line in the Rounders movie, ""If it suits you, it tickes me plum to death". Here's hoping it does what you want.

Sorry, just now saw this. Thanks! Yeah, I like it. Haven't fired it yet, but I do like how it feels more than the CZ. Ultimately, the CZ will eventually be sold off...whenever the market is better. I really don't need two full size 9mm pistols. Also,....I used to hear that CZ's "sat low in the hand because of the slide inside the frame design",......but the Echelon...and Glocks for that matter, sit lower. I can hold the CZ in my left hand, the Echelon in my right hand, hold them both out, matching where my grip is for both hands, and the slide of the CZ is noticeably taller.

But yeah, I didn't feel the need to post a pic since it is basically like any Echelon with extended/threaded barrel.

Thanks again for the comment!

At the grand opening, I thought the demonstrator Echelon had a tough trigger, no better than a Glock if as good. I wondered what all the posts about the good trigger were about.
I got a second look yesterday at a different sample. The customer who won the drawing shortly traded it in for something else. It has quite a good trigger action. This means I would want to handle one if I were shopping.
But then I looked at the S&W M&P I had been shooting and wondered why it mattered.

Jim, the trigger is pretty good, IMO. Not "match" for certain,...but for the type of pistol it is,...I like it. And, again a comparison, I prefer the wider trigger of the Echelon over the P-09. Reset is shorter on the Echelon as well.

The Glock and the SIG are the known quantities, along with some others. A buddy has tried the Echelon, and liked it. Wouldn't mind handling one, but not feeling the need to branch out into another platform. In this day and age, that means extra 'full capacity' magazines.

True, halfmoonclip. If you already had several of a specific platform, the Echelon may not make sense. For those like me, who only had the one CZ, I'm good with the branch-out.
