I brought the 44 home today.

And yes, the Wrist Bandoliers made the trip as well!

They threw in a few rounds of ammo to sweeten the deal:)

I also have about 400 or so what looks to be Gun Show Reloads.
I'll be visiting the Reloading Forum for some input later on.

One thing I found out with my SBHs is that they were much more pleasant to shoot with an oversize grip on it. A friend of mine had a set of grips (I believe they were made by Mustang Grips, a long defunct grip maker) but looked very much like the grips on this SBH:

I'm reasonably sure you could find grips similar to this on ebay.

I put Pachmyer Presentation grips on my Blackhawks. Bigger grip physically and still rolls in my hand during recoil. The older ones are made of slicker rubber, so Ebay.

Over the years I've picked up all three Ruger single actions, Single Six convertible, Black Hawk .357, and a Super black Hawk .44 Mag. I shoot and love all three. I call the .44 my ASS KICKER. Not for the weak at heart with full power 300 grain hard cast SWC

Thanks everyone.

I hope to get it out in the next few weeks.

I like the idea of larger grips.
My used .357 Blackhawk came with Pachmyers. They handle well for me.

This is my 6th Ruger single action. There is NO CURE for the SA Sickness!!!!!

I had a nice 44 Redhawk for a while. The stainless finish on it was beautiful but I never got used to the stiff/hard single action trigger. It literally made my finger sore if I shot it a lot.

Buffalo cartridge is legit OEM ammo.....unless they reused the boxes......

Agreed. The trigger guard tends to smack your knuckle when shooting heavy-recoiling loads.

The grip seen on the blued gun takes care of that. I believe it is made by Hogue.

eta: look here. They also have a rubber version.

I had a SBH 44 9” for a while. I don’t care for heavy recoil on a single action with plow handles. Traded it away after putting on a set of hogue oversized grips. Still have the grips though. Likely will end up with another at some point.

Dying to hear about the gun show reloads. Will you risk your new gun to someone else's expertise or lack of it?

The squared off rear trigger guard on my old model Super Blackhawk is absolutely terrible, it will smash the top side of my right hands middle fingers Middle Phalanx bone every time, even with moderate loads. Had to get the giant Rubber Hogue sofa-chair-like grips to cover it up. They look terrible, but make the gun much more shootable.

I have a permanent "Super" knot on my right middle finger. Hate the look of the big grips but have to use them.
