Yesterday I picked up my Pico from Academy Sports. I plan to hit the range with it tomorrow on my day off. I am pretty impressed with this little gun so far.

I was concerned about how heavy the trigger pull and how hard it would be to rack the slide based on some of the earlier reviews. The box it came in does have the "improved operation" sticker on it.

The trigger is nice. Very revolver like but not excessively heavy (I did buy 380 snap caps when I picked it up). And the slide was much easier to rack than I thought.

Even with the standard grip and a 2 finger hold the gun handles well. The gun just disappears into a pair of slacks. I did buy a new pocket holster made out of that sticky material. Which was good since my smallest pocket holster is way to big for the Pico.

I bought several boxes of 380 fmj ammo from different manufactures to put it though its paces. They are all 95 grn bullets I believe.

I did buy a box of Hornady Critical Defense ammo as well.

I have to say I'm pretty happy so far. My Mom was looking for a small gun too, and she likes the Pico too much. I might have to get her one before she steals mine

Keep us posted. The Hornaday CD is a small mouth HP and so does well in my Pico. Mine doesn't like wide mouth HP though. I'll try some again in a month or so just to see if it was a break in condition.

I had one and loved the accuracy. The reported weak firing pin scared me off a bit. I traded toward an LCPII, but I would be lying if I wasnt tempted by the low price Rural King is running on the Pico right now.

I have had both the Pico and Nano. Both are very well built little guns. I'm in the market for a flat pocket gun. As much as I like the improved trigger on the the LCPII, I kind of want something with a heavy "pocket" trigger. Dont get me wrong. The little Ruger is the most accurate and easy to shoot .380 I have owned out of the Pico, LCP Gen I, and BG.

Truth be told, I'm between the known Beretta quality of a Pico and the RM380. I know the Pico shoots well. I kind of like the old school metal frame on the RM380. Then again, the M&P BG was a great shooting gun. To further compound the issue, I had the original LCP in my pocket for years without a second thought. Tough, reliable, cheap, light.

I'm one of those guys that doesnt really get hung up on if .380 is enough. I'm one of those guys that can't decide on one to carry. My screaming lower back sure prefers them over a big ol' pistol.

Love the new micro 380s.

My favorite by far is the RM380 and the only issue was it took me about a week to really get comfortable with the somewhat different field strip routine.

Next and very close to the RM380 is my Pico. The only issue with it is that mine so far does not like wide mouthed hollow points.

Then it is the BG 380. To really make it compete with the former I did have to make a few modifications. I added grip tape to the slide to make racking easier (and now it's right there with the Pico on that point) and a Hogue HandAll to increase palm swell and add a little cushioning.

I still have the LCP but honestly it is simply not in the same class as the others.

I may have to pick up the RM380. For under $250, having a gun with a firm pocket trigger and a good grip circumference might compliment the LCPII.
