I haven't posted for a while cause I've been out here in sunny Kandahar. Here are a few pics I thought you guys would enjoy, I'll try and upload more pics. Let me know if there's anything specific you wanna see a picture of out here.

Those are some pretty cool looking antique rifles. It would be nice to have them brought over here. Are the ones on the bottom Berdan rifles?

The top rifles look like Martini-Henrys, probably dating way way back to the British days. They're likely antiques under US law so assuming the military OK's it there's nothing wrong with shipping them back USPS. You could check the receiver dates. Also, I belive some of these were made by the locals and may date after 1898. They're called "Khyber Pass Martinis" and according to this source you should not try to shoot one until you know for sure where it was made:

Not sure what the external hammer rifles are. Maybe two band Enfields?

The next one looks to be an 1888 Commission Mauser. I'd love to know if it's one of the Turkish ones.

The last two are 'orrible old '86 Lebels. The fact that they're up and running sort of undercuts the notion that they're cruddy rifles. I wonder how the devil they ended up all the way over there. Maybe they were picked up from the Legion Etranger and they worked their way from N. Africa or Syria up the ancient trade routes to the mountains. Love to see those proofs! Of all of them, those Lebels interest me the most.

I guess the Mosins and No. 4's are still in the field, so watch yourself.

My son was stationed in Afghanistan for nearly 15 months, sent back some of those antique rifles for family members. Here's my Khyber Pass Martini straight from a Kabul gun shop. I believe if the firearm was made prior to 1898?, you can obtain necessary paperwork and send it home. One can only guess what action these old rifles may have seen.....this one was made in 1873.

Uh, we lost one of those APC-s to IED, made a scrapmetal out of it. Luckily, noone injured, as the APC was being hauled to new base or something.

no really though that is pretty neat, i wish they would have had those in iraq when i was there, hell i would rather look at the guns than all the folex's and cheap sunglasses, and smell that stinking a** perfume they sell.

Good pics, but check your PMs.

Firearms made before 1898 can be shipped into the US. Firearms modeled after firearms originally made before 1898, that do not have a date stamp, are in practice assumed to be made before 1898. BP firearms from any date could be shipped.

Close. A MG-3, a MG-42 design chambered for 7.62x51 mm. Extremely reliable, as one would expect from war-proven design.
