*PINK* KelTec P3AT

Mr daughter turned 30 last November, and we decided, along with her husband, to get her a carry gun for her birthday. She had tried several, and settled on the P3AT with extended magazine was the one she wanted.

But she wanted a pink one ("Its like underwear, dad. Nobody sees it, but it still has to be pretty.") KelTec hasn't made a pink gun in years, and with the November rush, we were lucky to get a black one.

A gunsmith friend of mine solved the problem with Duracoat. The slide is bead-blasted and clear coated. You get to see it before she does:

Plain and simple, fellas. If the lady insists that it be a certain way for her to carry it, oblige. Whatever it takes to keep our loved ones safe, regardless of color or personal taste.

Anything pink in a woman's purse attracts less negative attention. I can imagine what would happen if somebody dropped a tacticool Glock while fumbling for their checkbook. But, paint that same Glock neon green with pink polka-dots and it would probably not get but a glance.

Hey, I'am 56 yr old male, hairy legged, ex-truckdriver. I wouldn't give a rats backside what color it was if I had needed it at 2 o'clock in the morning in a lot full of trailers or anywhere else for that matter. While I've never learned to appreciate the .380; enough of them to the COM would surely discourage some bad@$$ from hitting you in the head with a piece of pipe. If the lady wants a pink gun; get her a pink gun!!

Heck you should suggest that to Kel-Tec. I might write in myself. My son just bought my daughter-in-law a p3AT. she wanted a pink gun and the only one they could find was a Charter Arms Pink Lady. They wanted a semi so settled for a Hard Chrome Kel-Tec. Kel-Tec, with the number of new purchases men are making for their spouse, would probably increase their sales if that was possible. Some of the shops are saying there is a year waiting list for them. ( boy that kinda reminds me of Pepto Bismal. Lol) Seriously though don't make fun of her or she will stop carrying it. stay safe
