*sigh* I'm afraid I'm caught between the wife and a hardplace. We're planning to buy a shiny new G19 for Christmas. She asked what colors they come in and I told her any color she wanted as long as it was black. She wants a pink one. :banghead:

We've argued about it back and forth and she's put her foot down. So here I am, shaming myself. Does anyone know of a mfr who makes some sort of slip-on rubber grip in pink for a Glock? Something like the Handall sleeves, maybe?

Perhaps you have another solution to my problem? I'd really like something non-permanent and easy to add/remove for the obvious reasons (ahem, not the wife - mostly she's a keeper).

Buy the girl a pink one.
After you are married for a while you'll carry her purse and everything without a 2nd thought. Yea...I'm whooped and not bothered about it. She lets me buy all the guns I want. :neener: :)

Whatever happened to the pink (or blue, or green, or whatever)-framed Witness line?

Wow, you must be a catch. Seeing as how she wants to sign you up with the pink pistols to scare off the women:neener:

Dude, seriously pink it up. What could be better than a wife that wants a gun? A wife that wants a special/custom gun!

Let me ask, do you not carry her purse, buy her tampons, etc. It's no big deal, not like she wants you to have a pink truck or a piant all you guns pink. Just hers.

Buy two and tell her it was a buy one get one sale (you bought her one so you get one too)

Paint yours blue or red so you can have a boy gun and she can have a girl gun

<all was said in fun, just being sarcastic>

Are you thick headed?????

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

The woman is telling you that she wants to get a pistol for Christmas!!!!!!!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Get her what she wants and then go buy another one and you can have "his and her" tupperware:D .

Some of those custom paint jobs are. . . nice, but I'd really like to do something non-permanent. Plus, it's not so much her pistol as ours, so there will certainly be times I take it to the range alone.

What about maybe some pink griptape? Like the stuff skateboarders use. I've seen pictures of some of your guns with small, strategically placed pieces in a less brilliant color. Would it stick to the poly well enough to stay put? Would I be able to get it off some day without leaving all that adhesive gunk behind?

I think if I were able to place that carefully enough, I could always slip a black sleeve grip over it when the wife is absent. . .

Get it, pink it, "man up" and shoot the pink abomination with her proudly.

Then get your own later.

(and pink it) :p

Seriously, there are tons of threads here from folks who have S/O's that are disinterested in or even anti gun.

You have a golden opportunity that these folks may never get.

If you make this "our" gun more "hers", there's a stellar chance of you getting a all-black manly "his" one later anyway, and now she'd have her very own pink gun to be excited about.

Honestly here, if i could only have one pistol and my wife said it had to be pink because she would only shoot it if it was pink. I would get that pink pistol in a heart beat. So what its pink. Pink is a good colour, if anyone ask/stares at you just say "its the wifes". The other guy will be thinking how great it is your wife likes guns, not how "gay" you look with the pistol.

If she likes shooting, there should be more guns in your future not less. Even if you dont have the money now you may later.

Pink it up!!!

You have a great oppurtunity, dont blow it!

It's just a color, dont let idiotic sociocultural norms run your life.

wow lordgibson,
I think you've got a real problem here. If pink does really bother you so much get a 1911 or something with interchangeable grips and buy some pink grips and some manly walnut grips so you'll not get made fun of at the range. See, this is why glocks will never be as good as a 1911.:neener:

Really, if a dude had a pink pistol at the range I'd assume one of many things were possible;
1. he is shooting his wife's gun
2. he is shooting his daughter's gun
3. he is shooting his gay son's gun
4. he likes pink guns
5. he is gay and likes pink guns
6. I want to see it so I can tell my sig-other about it, maybe she'll want one too!

It's a great reason to get a gun of your own in a month or two. "honey, everyone makes fun of me for shooting a pink gun:( Do you think I could give you this one and get myself one that isn't pink?"

Ok now i feel sorry for the guy, he came here for support and we are all siding with his wife. Sorry, but its rarer that a woman wants a gun, so jump on it.

Its just a color, man. I hate Glocks, but I think if I saw a pink one under my dealer's glass, I think I'd have to have if just for the novelty of it all. I wouldn't give two cents for what someone saw me with one would think. In fact, I think most folks would think its a pretty neat novelty, too.

Have you ever seen the real tricked out IPSC guns and holsters some guys use? The neons, the pastels, its just a great big rainbow of colors.

OK OK, I guess I could live with a pink gun. . . I suppose I am pretty lucky compared to most.

But, regardless of the color, I just don't see myself painting a $500 glock. And since apparently no one makes pink sleeves (at least that I can find) I'll have to go with some sort of adhesive. I think the griptape looks like the most reasonable solution. And it has some practical advantage to boot.

And if I take my time with a nice sharp exacto I could probably make it look pretty sweet. If it winds up not working out I could always go the Krylon route, but it seems so wrong.
