OK.

yes, I know this is the rifle forum, but I'm posting this here because it is a question about a rifle optic, with only a secondary question about the Saiga-12.

Anyone have any experience with the PK-A sight? I'm thinking of mounting one on my Saiga-12. Here are my concerns/thoughts on the matter:

1. What are your general thoughts on the sight? I'm looking for a economical red dot that will sit low over the dustcover. I've always liked the idea of the Kobra, but it sits so darned high. If the sight fails I can always use the QD mouth to cast it aside and use the bead sight on the gun as a BUIS without having to adopt a different mount/cheekweld. That, or if the range is REALLY close, use it as a massive ghost ring (probably way less than ideal).

2. Would I be correct in assuming that whatever shortcomings this sight has vis a vis the other russian optics (this is the bottom end one, I believe) would be kinda made moot by the fact that this is going on a short-range scattergun?

3. Will this thing handle 12 guage recoil OK? I imagine yes, but I'd like to not be unpleasantly surprised.

4. Will it fit over the dustcover on a Saiga-12? I imagine that it would, but the Saiga-12 might not be quite AK spec in that area.

5. Do you have another suggestion in lieu of the PK-A? I want something that sits as low as possible.

Thanks,
Mike
