I've had a PM9 for some time now. I've tried to pocket carry it in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster, but it looks like I'm carrying a brick in my pocket. I wear mountain Khakis most of the time, so they aren't tight. I feel like its obvious I'm carrying in my pocket. Am I just being paranoid? Id like to hear from those that pocket carry a PM9 and those that have tried. Thanks.

No, that's about right. I've owned one now for about four years. It's my EDC , IWB in a Silent Thunder holster.

Front pocket of cargo shorts with a Stays Put holster for me. Or IWB appendix works too.

For all people who do notice something know, you've got a smart phone or a wallet in your pocket. As long as it doesn't look like a gun, who cares?

When people compare pocket pistols they often say "this pistol is only 1/8" wider than that pistol, it doesn't make a difference"

Pockets have fixed sizes and eventually that eighth of an inch does make a difference in a pocket.

When I was looking for a pocket nine I narrowed it down to the Rohrbaugh R9 and the Kahr PM9. I went to Gander Mountain and put a PM9 in my pocket. It is definitely a pocket pistol but I opted to go with the R9.

The R9 almost disappears in my front pocket. The pocket closes over the top of it so no one can look down into my front pocket and see the butt of the gun. You can tell there is something in my pocket but no idea what it is - wallet, phone, or whatever.

The PM9 is a little bit wider and a little bit longer but I think the same thing is true, no one will be able to tell it is a firearm.

I carried my pm9in my front pocket for many years and never once did I worry that someone would notice. I used a homemade pocket holster that somewhat disguised the shape, the same as most commercial ones do, and it always held it secure. Never any worries.

I've pocket-carried my CM9 (same size as PM9) in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster on numerous occasions. Works OK in loose cargo shorts or jeans with big pockets, but is a no-go in pretty much everything else.

I carry a CM9 daily in front right pocket in a Nemisis holster just like you, have been for about 3 years now. I am also a hefty kind of fellow who's pants are usually a little tight. I carry using cargo shorts, cargo pants or jeans. While it does show up as a bulge, I have never had a single person notice and comment about it. As someone else mentioned, just say it is a cell phone. I also carry a spare mag in an appropriate sized Leatherman holster on my belt in the wide open and have never had anyone notice that either.

Bottom line, I think you are just being self conscious. No one will notice.

You're being paranoid. People are way too self absorbed to notice you have two wallets. Besides I'm pretty sure about 90% of the sheeple wouldn't notice you carrying it in your hand until their children pointed it out.

I've tried to pocket carry my PM9 for years, but always end-up going back to my LCP.

As much as I want my PM9 to ride comfortably in my pocket, it just can't compete with the little micro .380s out there. So, in an OWB/IWB holster it rides.

YMMV

I pocket carry every day and rotate between my PM9, Kimber Solo, Nano, or P380 in a DeSantis Nemisis holster without a problem. I usually wear khaki shorts and a golf shirt here in FL, and have never had anyone notice the pistol in my pocket. I believe you are overly concerned about carrying in your front pocket. I say carry and forget about your concerns of the gun printing or being noticed by others. If weight is your primary concern, the P380 or Solo are lighter in weight than the PM9.

Jimbeaux82, mavracer, and WRGADog,
You're right, I'm self conscious about it. I'm fairly new to carrying. I know I have to get over it. I've carried it in jeans before and didn't seem to notice it so much. But for some reason, it stood out like a sore thumb in my Mountain Khakis. They have huge deep pockets, so I was a little surprised.

I guess I need to realize that, in my holster, it looks like a square object in my pocket. Certainly doesn't look like a gun, but I am going to try a different holster.

Don't look down and all will be well. maybe the way to deep pockets hurt a bit so for when it you think it does not work well by your self a desantis sof-tuck for iwb carry.

A Remora holster works fine for me with several small guns. I "only" pocket carry now, unless I OWB a 1911. They all fit, I am 44 yrs carrying, and have never been asked what is in your pocket, never. I am 6 foot and 190lbs. I think that because you know it's a gun, you think everyone else does also.
People now carry 2 or 3 cell phones, for business, plus all kinds of electronic nonsense, cigarettes pocket knives keys glasses, combs and other hair products ,extra magazines, and things you wouldn't believe when it comes to women. especially. That bulge could be anything.
I went out to dinner 2 nights ago with 2 guns on me, a button down shirt with a vest, and had enough stuff on me to dig in and hold off a small invading force, should that ever become necessary. "kidding"
The mind plays tricks on us, no one knows anything until you tell them. That goes for most things in life.
I used to tell my wife things I did for the 50 years she didn't know me, I stopped doing that, she thought everyone else knew them just because she did. I also trained her to not offer information unless specifically asked by someone in authority. Not the neighbors or a client at work. Next thing you know everyone knows you have a gun on you, which defeats the purpose. Also avoid touching or brushing against it to check on it.
A trained eye will pick up on this right away and it is a sure way to be surrounded while eating dinner, by over eager police and employees.
Just put it in the holster and go on your way. If it really prints that much, then you need a different model holster.

As long as whatever is in your pocket doesn't look like a gun, it's unlikely anyone will notice or care. Most people care so concerned about others around them they text, eat, or do some combination of things while trying to drive a car at 70+ mph:eek:. When people are that wrapped up in them selves, they aren't going to notice your gun unless they carry too, and that is even unlikely. I have pocket carried and M&P40c a few times in a modified DeSantis Sof-Tuk without any problems. I would not suggest pocket carrying a gun of similar size to the M&P (much bigger than the PM9). Its heavy and prints a LOT even in large pockets. Point here is: no one will notice your PM9.

This is my thought, exactly. I have a Ruger LCP, and a Kahr CM9, and there is no comparison as to which is easier to pocket carry. The CM9 feels twice the size and weight of the LCP when riding in a pocket. I bought the CM9 to be an upgraded pocket gun, but it just sits in the safe, and the LCP gets carried all the time.

I also have a CW9, which is only 1/2" longer and 1/2" taller, so if I'm going to belt carry a Kahr 9mm, I might as well carry that. The CM9 doesn't serve much of a purpose for me. But for someone with BIG pockets, who doesn't have another pocket gun already, the CM9/PM9 is a great gun.

I liked carrying the PM9 in some pants and shorts but found it too heavy for my liking.
I primarily carry a Seecamp .380 in a Nemesis or M&P 340, snub.

I'm sure no one notices. Is that a PM9 or are you.....

My PM9 has been my primary pocket pistol for almost eight years now. I have owned two LCPs, both are gone. The PM9 is only a small bit larger than the LCP. Plus, I don't trust the .380 cartridge...not to mention, I shoot the PM9 about 4x as well as the LCP.

The PM9 is smaller than a j-frame, holds two extra rounds, and again, I shoot it far better than a j-frame.

I am only 5'9" and 145 lbs. If you can't conceal a PM9 in a front pocket, you are doing something really wrong. :)

PM9

I occasionally pocket carry my P9 Covert (same grip length as PM9 but 1/2" longer bbl as a P9).

People will not notice.

I wear the DeSantis the most as this gun is usually a bug and the cheaper Apache cinches tighter on my ankle.
If I use it as a primary, I either go with the Rosen or Kytac depending on how I dress.
I'm sure the Rohrbaugh would probably be my choice aside from initial cost but 10 years ago, I couldn't afford it and hedged on the Covert with night sights.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to try a different holster and see how that goes.

Or IWB appendix works too.
Best for me too with my PM40. Second best is 5 o'clock just behind my hip and above my wallet.

Small and light as the PM pistols are when fully loaded you are looking at 1-1/4+ lbs which is a lot in a pocket.

S&W Bodyguard .380 or Ruger LCP works best for me for pocket carry, although the Ruger is noticeably smaller and a bit lighter, I've found the mag released in my pocket often enough that I've lost confidence in it for pocket carry.

While I typically carry my PM9 in a High Noon OWB holster, I've pocket carried it many, many times over the years Never had anyone stare at the my pocket....I think that with today's smart phones, everyone is too busy updating FB, tweeting, or shooting Angry Birds. They could care less about some bulge in your pants pocket.

Did the CM9 pocket carry (same size as a PM9)...

After seeing how slow it was to pull from a front pocket, and seeing that
drawing it from a sitting position, was....... Quite frankly ....glacial speed

Im back to IWB
