Per Megpul's Facebook:
The Magpul PMAG 30 AK MOE is a 30 round, durable, lightweight, high reliability polymer magazine for 7.62x39 Kalashnikov pattern firearms.

This will be the first installment of the Magpul AK magazine line. The AK MOE will be an all-polymer design, utilizing the same advanced materials and manufacturing processes as the rest of the PMAG line to achieve surprising durability. It features a removable floorplate, constant curve geometry, and high-reliability/low-friction follower for the performance you expect from a PMAG.

Due to the interface of rifle and magazine in the Kalashnikov platforms, and the leverage that critical points must withstand, we knew we couldn’t leave well-enough alone with the AK MOE before we even started designing. Also currently in development, and arriving on the heels of the AK MOE, is the next release in the PMAG AK lineup, which will be a 7.62x39 magazine with a little more “Bulgarian” in it, featuring solid steel reinforcements at lockup points.

They also are releasing the MOE AK grip. My AK is jumping for joy. It's not like the AK needed another magazine, but it'll be nice to have reliable and strong magazines being made right here, and in constant supply.

Are there availability or supply issues that call for these, or is this just an opportunity? Either way, I want one for the VZ.58.

Ehh, not really, but how many stores can you walk in (during normal times), and find quality Circle 10 style mags? These would be a cheaper, more available, and most likely just as good, choice.

I wouldn't mind it if they made a MOE handguard. A quality polymer handguard would be cool.

Tapco mags have such mixed reviews Im glad Magpul is getting into the game. I've never had an issue with my Tapcos, but Magpul stakes their reputation on quality mags, so I don't foresee too many issues. I need to buy some more AK mags anyway so I'll order some if the price is right.

Never had a Tapco fail, but they're not durable mags. Overtime, the tabs wear out and no longer lock well, so they get retired. The Magpul all polymer ones likely won't be anymore durable, but the steel-lined ones I'm sure will rival the price of the Tapcos, and be as durable as the Circle-10's. Hell, even if they cost the same as Circle-10's, at least they'll be readily available.

Can't wait to see some durability tests.

Just doesnt look right . THe best AK polymer mag out there is the Polish made.
And for the AK 74 version the East German bakelite shines at the top.

I'll wait for the steel lined. Then, assuming quality I will use them in place of circle 10 mags. I'd sooooooo much rather buy from a company like Magpul than one like Kvar. I'll be interested to see a price point on the steel reenforced ones.

Call me old school if you'd like, but I prefer wood stocks and bakelite mags. I think plastic just looks wrong on an AK pattern rifle. All the tapco stuff I've had was super cheap and flimsy.

Same here. Ever since the CO mess, I've done all I can to support Magpul. So even if these somehow cost more than the Circle 10's from Arsenal, I'll gladly pay it to Magpul. Plus, as I said, these will almost certainly be in constant production, and easy to pick up from the LGS. At least, that is how it seems for every other product they put out.

Great news. I'd like to see the grip they come out with. The US made one I have.. leaves me cold.

I have a US Palm, and I do like it, but it's too narrow for me. I'm hoping the MOE will fatten up my grip a bit.

Also, could you change the title to something less abrasive than all caps? I regret it now. lol

No interest in an all polymer AK mag. When the steel reinforced version is released i'll be interested. Most curious as to what the price will be.

^The poly mags may well be a rival for Tapco in price/function, so if that drives prices down/availability up, I'm all for it. I'm always wiling to buy another range mag when I see one.

Tapco will replace your worn out magazines for free. Lifetime warranty on them.

I will be interested in these PMAGS if/when they ever hit the market. They still can't fill all the AR magazine backorders, so I would plan to wait several months before you can even find the AK magazines.

Didn't know Tapco did that. I've got a stack of them that need replacing, then.

Didn't know it myself until a month ago. I had thrown away some wore out ones before I found out. Doh!

Figured I would relay the info.
