Are you reading my mind?

Box 1. I am a revolver fool. I just can’t gather up enough of them to suit me. I like Colts but I buy junk and enjoy working on it so I typically avoid colts because I don’t understand them well enough to fix one yet. I have a few S&Ws though. So box 1 is a maybe.

Box 2. I had a Delta Elite and traded it away because I felt it an unsafe design (unsupported chamber) and I’m still looking to fill that 1911 and 10mm void at the same time. This box is checked.

Box 3. GP100 yes. 10mm or 327fm though. Longer barrels are better. I have had bad luck with Ruger though so although I would buy it, I would buy it hesitantly. Box is reluctantly checked.

Box 4. I am looking for at least one more Marlin 62. Preferably a beater or a really nice 30 carbine. I have the .256 and the 30 carbine but I want the 357 that was promised, but never was made. I figure a takeoff barrel from something like a Rossi or Winchester can probably be fit to the receiver without a whole lot of trouble. Just gotta be creative. Box is checked.

Oh,box 4... need another RIA m14y to give one to each of my girls.

You didn’t make a box 5 though so I will help you out. Classic shotgun... LC Smith or something of the like. Maybe an auto 5.

When it comes to ammo, I keep a minimum of 1,000 rounds for everything but the .380, -06s, and 6.5s. Those have a few hundred loaded rounds with components to load a few hundred more. Rimfire...close to 10k, shot up and rotated regularly.

This one is fun, all your options are good but I'll throw a curve. If you like revolvers 1200 puts you in used freedom arms territory and that's a heck of a nice peice. Or since this is found money abbas won't be missed put it down on a suppressor. There's enough to buy a decent rifle can and possibly a 22 can as well if you shop careful.

Sweet way to manage the funds! I can see you got as many answers on what to get as you have posters. Lots to think about. Let us know what you choose. My next rifle is gong to be a 1917 Enfield. Saving up now.

So Skylerbone, any closer to a decision? What are you thinking?

Well in my searching I found that SA makes the Range Officer in an Elite Model AND in 10mm. Strong contender and the way I’m leaning right now. I’d love to get my COTEP membership but a DW is a few c notes more than I should spend and probably won’t perform any better than the Springfield.

I’ve been gawking at a local 586 at the pawn shop. Blued revolvers are near mesmerizing to me.

I’ve also been mulling over an SP101 but dad is 71, already had one, and I know it’s going to be mine eventually, probably sooner than I’d like.

Some part of me says buy a few inexpensive pieces, a TCR-22 and a PMR-30 perhaps then wait till tax time. Another part says by a Dillon XL650 and crank out piles more ammo.

Well I just made a partial decision, one to tide me over if you will. Smokey Mountain Guns and Ammo had the new Ruger Wrangler in stock for $179.99 so I bit. It should go nicely with my Single-Six as a trainer for the kids (with me “demonstrating” correct technique).

At that price I can hardly go wrong, a penny under $200 with the FFL fee which I always double. I may well end up with a second Ruger revolver in 10mm but still eyeing that Springfield. I looked at Freedom Arms and WOW they really are nice, but will have to wait this time. I’m hoping to come to a real decision after a more thorough scouting of local shops this coming week.

As much as I’m addicted to all firearms, I’m a rifleman before a pistolier. I love pistols, but rifle marksmanship really ‘does it’ for me.

That said, the Sauer 100 never did it for me. Especially if you have the chance to hold an older Sauer. It’s very easy to see the difference in quality which built the companies name

A few pics, just picked this up. Make what you will of it, at the asking price I’m happy. Still decidedly undecided on what the next purchase will be.

In your shoes, I would be looking at a sharps in 45-70.
Or a custom flintlock...
Or a gp100 in my favorite caliber, then would begin to collect gp100s in all the available calibers from .22 up. I would choose one barrel length.....and buy some REALLY NICE CUSTOM LEATHER that would fit them all.
But first....forgive me.....I would find a local charity that needs a modest boost.

Already have something in mind. Though I am religious but not a Christian, my favorite cousin is a pastor and will again be making a trip to Nepal soon. He’ll be spreading the good word, which sits just fine with me, and feeding people in the villages he visits. Not exactly local but not the only iron in the fire, and @Armored farmer no need for apologies.
