Police Benevolent Association stance on RKBA?

I have recently gotten a job as a Corrections Officer. I have only been on the job for a few weeks. At the moment there is a movement among the CO's to unionize under the PBA. A vote will be held soon to decide whether or not we will go with them.

I know next to nothing about unions in general and the PBA in particular. I have heard some pretty bad stories about the way the CO's were treated by management in the past, but I could never support nor become a member of the PBA if they are one of the groups pushing for a renewal of the AWB.

Does anyone have any information on the Police Benevolent Association and their policies and political goals?

A lot of the so called support from the Police comes from organizations such as this according to the Brady bunch.

Hopefully I will get a chance to talk to a union rep before the vote. No idea how this all is going to work though. I feel like I came into a movie in the middle of the climax and I have no idea what is going on.
