Okay, so there's two major sources of 5.45 Tantals right now it would seem: the Classic Arms/Century model (DCI receiver), for $490, and the Interarms/Atlantic Firearms version for $599. I just had the opportunity to handle a Century build today, and I must admit I was pretty surprised and impressed for a drunkenmonkey rifle. The finish was quite good, the selector moved smoothly, trigger pull was reasonably light for an AK, and the stock locked up tight.
Looking at the AA website, it appears that the Interarms model lacks the left-side selector switch. That alone is a serious minus in my book.
So given that there's a $110 difference in price, and that the Century appears to have more features, is there any real legitimate reason to go for the Interarms model instead? Fit and finish on the Century appeared about as good as it's going to get for an AK. I believe it used Tapco trigger components as well. So why would I go for the Interarms over the Century?
