paternoster the permit fees are $105. I dont know where their figures came from. This is the State police web site that details the liscensing process

I guess if they charge you for the finger printing the costs could go up to $120.00 but $250.00 seems unreasonable . Are you including the training costs with your figures?

I would support them dropping the age to 18. I don't believe that Indiana has a problem with 18-20 year old 'kids' causing problems with CCW.

If I remember riight it was:
$105 for the permit
$15-20 for the finger prints
$10 for the passport photos
$100-125 for the required training
Plus gas driving all over hell to get it

Those lowballing bumbers they had dont make any sense because the permit itself is $105, but the hidden costs double that price

paternoster2012- Last summer when I got my permit the fingerprints were included in the $105.00. Not sure if the law was changed or not but you're right all the other things add up in a hurry.

I just renewed and the total was $105.00, including fingerprints. There is pending legislation(HB 4042) that would waive the fingerprints (and $79.00 as a result) reducing the permit fee to $26.00. At least it's good for five years instead of my three year first one, so it could be worse.
