Possible Legal Headaches & the MK23

That H&K pistol is extremely expensive. Did you take a look at the Sig 220 offerings? There are many but the one I'm linking to looks very similar to the MK23.

or even the Sig 227 with a threaded bardel

Here in PA we have a very strong castle doctrine. The act of breaking into your home is considered a violent act and you have the right to protect yourself and your family. (I think I worded that correctly) There is no mention of what gun you can or can't use.

This is really a pretty simple topic, the problem is that it's not quite as black and white as some folks would like it to be.

In some cases, the type of weapon used hardly matters at all. If a bunch of guys with machineguns kick open your front door and come in shooting, there is almost nowhere in America that the type of weapon you use in response is going to be an issue.

In some cases, the type of weapon used could be a huge factor. If you are attacked on the street by someone with a knife and you take them out with a legal machinegun, figure that you are going to get a LOT more scrutiny from the justice system than you would have had you responded with a small revolver.

Here's the bottom line. It makes no sense to prepare for the case where weapon choice hardly matters. In the situations where it makes no difference then agonizing over the difference is obviously pointless.

So we're focused on the situations where it COULD be a factor, especially situations where a trial might result due to the circumstances.

Think about the makeup of an average jury.

Think about the fact that the weapon you use will be shown to the jury.

Think about how they will likely respond.

If you don't know anything about the three sentences above, you can find good information written by people who know a lot about them.

Decide what you want to do based on that.
