Possible trigger work on an H&R Handi rifle

i'm not by any means a 'gunsmith,' although of course, i can and do field strip when i need to. my little Handi is a single-shot, break action that appears to have a very simple fire control group.

i'd like to get the trigger down to about 3.5lbs to 4lbs from the current 6 pound pull.

isn't this just a matter of pulling out the trigger group and doing some filing and perhaps polishing?

Filing NO!

Stoning with very fine cut stones, yes.

But, without a sear & hammer jig to hold alignment, you will have a very low chance of maintaining the exact angles on the two surfaces.

This is one of those deals best left to an experienced gunsmith, if you aren't one.
