I've been using my LNL AP press with the Hornady powder measure and baffel and it works great and throws very consistent charges. With that said, I also have a Lee Classic turret that I used for years with 4 or so extra Lee Pro Auto disk powder dispensers. I'm getting ready to switch calibers on my LNL, but don't wish to change the settings on the LNL's powder drop, so I'm considering using one of the Lee's PAD on the Hornady press. I found that my RCBS' competition powder baffel will fit in my Lee's PAD. I also seen these (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lee-Reload...hash=item3d5ba11686:m:m5vLJ1cVeEjwWxyD2l5nU6A) powder baffels for the Lee on Ebay and was curious if anyone has tried them, or if they work well. The RCBS' work well in the Lee, but the cost is much more.

I have never used a powder baffle in my Lee PAD nor any other Powder measure. Maybe my LCT shakes enough that it does not matter or maybe my powders are not such that one is needed. Either way I've not found a need.

The small exit hole at the bottom of the hopper IS the baffle on a Pro Auto Disc, check it out.
I went the other way though and added a weight:

Testing proved more consistent throws with the weight, so I use it now.

Edit: and you can measure/record the powder measure stem as it is now and easily return to that setting for that load:

When I started loading 40 cal last year on the Classic turret, I noticed some very inconsistent charges out of the Pro Auto Disk. After I stuck my RCBS baffel in the Lee PAD, it helped tremendously. Now this was using WSF powder, I don't know how it would work with something else. So, having a powder baffel did straighten out the variance of the charges.

I really like that pdf chart for making your own! I'll fool with that and give it a shot. It looks pretty simple, especially being a cut-out.

And I never thought about measuring the powder stem. My RCBS competition drop is marked off in increments; but this is a great idea for the Hornady.

All good thought guys! Appreciate the post.

Given that you are getting good results from the LNL powder measure, you might consider just buying a new Hornady quick change powder die and a new metering assembly for the new caliber. The cost would be around $35. This way you can switch calibers quickly and the settings are retained.

I made one for my PAD from a prescription pill bottle child proof top. There’s one that is the exact size of the interior of the PAD hopper. Drill several 1/4” holes around the edge and drop it in upside down before you fill the hopper. It seemed to work well.

Except for the LCT part I concur. Never used a baffle and never needed one.

If you are going to buy another measure I would go with the Lee autodrum instead if the disk. I have the drum and the PAD both.
I use my drum on my LNL every now and then.
How are you liking your LNL?

Just as a FYI you can get another metering insert for the LNL measure for about $12
https://www.amazon.com/Hornady-Standard-Lock-N-Load-Metering-Insert/dp/B003O1UQ1U
ttha way you don't have to change the one you have set. (I have one I like to leave set for my 9mm match loads)

You can make a baffle out of a soda/beer can, it does not have to be perfect.

I believe the root of your problem is that the word, spelled properly, is B-A-F-F-L-E !!

I'm not really interested in buying another measure at this time; I already have 4 extra ones laying around collecting dsut. (Oops, look at that, HE SPELLED D-U-S-T WRONG!!! - CALL THE COPS! - CALL THE COMMIES! - JUST CALL SOMEBODY; PLEASE!!!)
I've already stated that the current PAD is doing a good job with the RCBS baffle. The whole post was to see what people might have thought of those "plastic" baffles that the link was for. I guess they're junk; that's what I thought.

I already have another Hornady lower assemble also. It just hasn't been incorporated into the mix yet as I see what these PAD's that are laying around can do.

The LNL is doing pretty good. I learn more about it each time I pull the ram rod. My reloading sessions have become one of two things; 1 - either I run out of bullets, or 2 - I'm finished before my TV program is, LOL. Yes, it has speeded things up a tad, and opens more time to do other things, such as prep cases or whatever. It looks good sitting on the bench too :)

I'm setting it up for a .45 acp run soon, and off the press I'm thinking about loading some "light" 40 S&W rounds for my P226 Sig to try some "fast" firing. (Mostly to have fun with the others trying to keep up with their 9mm's - they don't reload). I seen a thread on this just the other day. I know you did some "mouse-farts" with the 9mm, did you ever load any light ones for the 40?

For what it's worth off the thread, I'm really interested in a 5" Walther PPQ-Q5 match pistol. Problem is all the good priced ones on sale are sold out. Cabelas still had them, but they wanted way over $100 more for the same gun. I checked out the M2 - ppq and liked it; but I really want the Q5 because the slide has been milled for and RMR; and that's what I'll put on it.

One thing I have done on my Dillon measures is to strap an aquarium air pump to the hopper. The vibrations seem to help settle the powder more consistently into the bar. This helps on some of the difficult-to-measure flake powders, like 800x. Not really an option for a auto-index turret press, though, because of the power cord.

No mouse farts for .40 I don't own one, but for 9mm I used a light bullet and just started working down from the start charge until I lost function. Faster powders are better for this.
Glad the LNL is working out for you.

I made one from a prescription bottle lid for my Lee PPM and it did wonders for powders like Varget, IMR4064, and H4350. It went from +-0.5g to +- 0.1g for charges in the 50 grain range and the weight doesn't change at all from a full hopper to an almost empty one. I just cut 4 rectangles out of about 1/4" x 1/2" around the outside edge of the top and slid it in. I posted a pic a year or so ago, but I can't find it at the moment.

When you use the Lee on your LNL, do you use that chain system that comes with the PAD? I hear some people say it's safer because with so many things going on with a Progressive press, it's easy to drop a double charge. I always just used the riser in the Classic turret without any problem. And I do have a powder cop I visually keep an eye on.

Ok, a lot to comment on here...
I'm not a fan of using the chain on a PAD, or that wrap around spring either.
With the chain, the measure drop tube doesn't return until the bottom of the stroke when the chain is pulled, so the PM drop tube doesn't "follow" the expander or riser insert going down.

The wrap around chain setup doesn't operate smoothly (for me), and I use a kind of hybrid made up of the chain arm and a hardware store spring.
Here's a pic to save a lot of typing:

I use a hose clamp on the adjoining die to attach the spring, you can move the clamp up/down for more/less spring tension, a setup that would work on a turret too.
That bicycle mirror is my "powder cop"...no station required!
The advantage of this setup is I can just unhook the spring and thro 10 charges by hand into a Long case with the case held against the expander, following it up and down, to get an average weight.
That piece of wire under the hose clamp came from a metal paper clip, here's a pic, along with my DIY long cases, 1 for 9mm, 1 for 38sp:
