Powder Suggestions for .44 Spl and .45LC

I load extensively for both. Unique or AL20/28. They're virtually identical and in my experience data can be interchanged. Velocities will run at most 3% higher with 20/28.

ETA- In the .44, 6.5 grs. of either powder with a 250 +/- gr. cast bullet will net around 850 fps and has been crazy accurate in every one of my Specials.

In the Colt 8.5 grs. with a 250-255 gr cast will get you 850-900 fps and has shot well in my Uberti and my Ruger NM Vaquero.

I don't have any 44 Spl (yet) but feed a few Rugers in 45 Colt. I've used Unique with good results in light,moderate, and somewhat stout loads, and TrailBoss for light loads. I've also used 2400 with very good results in moderate to stout loads (Brian Pearce's Tier-II and Tier-III equivalents). HS-6 is a good powder too, but it seems I cannot find it around here these days. Another recent powder I've tried is Green Dot - ~7 to 7.5 grains with a 255 grn lead bullet is a pretty nice shooting load for me.
