I have been seeing this new ammo around lately. It really cheap. I'm wounding just how good it is. Is the brass any good for reloading. Has anyone shot this ammo before ?

How good it is seems to be a matter of who you talk to. Like most ammunition is gets mixed reviews with a majority favoring the stuff.

Personally I have only tried their 223 Match 75 grain HP and only a single 20 round box which I was given. Shot from a Colt Sporter Target with a 1:7 twist it shot quite well. Not great but 2" groups give or take. It may have done better if I would have put more time and effort into the shooting. I wouldn't mind trying some of their 308 match stuff. Brass cases, boxer primed and reloadable but I can't really attest to the quality of the brass for reloading yet.

My advice? Give it a shot and see how it works for you in your gun. Cheap enough you won't be out much for trying it.

I shoot PPU in 7.62x54R, 30-06, 308, 7mm Mauser, 30-30, and 9x18 Mak. I've yet to have any issue with any and I reload for all of those, along with 8mm Mauser. I buy new PPU brass for 8mm. It isn't Lapua or norma brass, but it's as good as, if not better than, most of the Big 3 brass I've used. I have some 223 from PPU, but I haven't shot or reloaded it yet.

As for accuracy of the factory ammo, it's pretty good. I have one rifle in 7mm Mauser that absolutely loves the 139 gr SP. Most of the rifle ammo is about 2 MOA from most of my scoped rifles that usually shoot 1 MOA with my handloads. Keep in mind that, with the exception of 30-30 and 308, these are well used milsurp rifles. 7.62x54R shoots much better than Russian or Bulgarian surplus that I've shot but that's not any great revelation.

I've used the brass only. Never purchased any of the PPU ammunition.

The brass I have has been consistent and seems to be of good quality. Probably on par with some of the better Remington brass. For what it is, it's a good value.

I've used it in 308 and 30-30. It had decent accuracy for factory ammo. (A better marksman might disagree.) The brass has been fine for reloading.

The 7.62x54R from Prvi Partizan has been good cartridges and good reloading brass.

A while back when I was looking for new brass for my Mosin-Nagant, PPU's cartridges were better in pricing.

Prvi Partizan, made in Serbia, good value for what it is. PPU is also sold under the Monarch brand for Academy Outdoors. I've shot some of their pistol, .380, 9mm, .40, and .45 with no negative results.

Also bought some 174gr SP 7.5x55 Swiss for plinking and reloading (because it's boxer primed unlike GP11 and cheaper to buy loaded ammo than just the brass). Haven't shot any groups with it but from general plinking out to 200 it's on par with the GP11.

I have a bunch of brass with PPU head stamps but only have 1 reloading on some 7.5x55 so I can't speak on that.

I haven't had any problems with Prvi Partizan ammo. Shot 5.56 and 9mm. Seems decent enough.

I shot a box of 9mm PPU yesterday out of a CZ75B. 115 gr FMJ. No problems whatever and perfectly accurate at the 5-15 yards I was shooting. I have quite a bit of the brass but have not reloaded any as of yet. I bought several boxes at Wally world a while back and I think I have one box left.

If it is true that they make Monarch brand ammo then I did have a major problem with some 30-30 I got at Academy a couple of years ago. I had two instances where the case jammed in the gun and had to be removed by my gunsmith. I have never had that happen with this Marlin 336 before or after so I have to go with an ammo issue. I marked the rest of the box with a big red X and haven't shot it any more.

I have had good experiences with it in .380, 9MM Mak, and M1 Carbine ammo.

Ammo and brass are great. The brass reloads well.

Hornady sells some oddball calibers with PPU headstamps in Hornady boxes. An example that comes to mind is the 7.7 Jap used in the Arisaka Type 99. Good stuff!

A good value for it's "price-point".

A shoot a fair amount of PPU in 7.62 X 25 TOK (through my M57 which is
also from Serbia) and 9 X18 MAK. I have never had any issues with either
one. They seem to be fairly clean shooting and again- very reliable for this
low price-point.
I have also shot Winchester (that's $7.00 a box more!) and I see virtually
no difference between the two....

I've shot a bunch of the 8mm out of a Yugo M48a without any issues. However a buddy of mine and myself have had problems with dud cases from the .338 Lapua they offer. It's good paper punching ammo in my opinion

Bought it some tears back for .303, and continued for .30-06, & .308. I mostly reload it now. Good ammo. Good brass. Recently bought some .38 S&W.

No problems in 9mm MAK, or the couple boxes of 7mm REM mag I shot. (bought it for the brass in 7mm)
Brass seems to be as good as Fed/Rem/Win.
Good value for the price IMO.

I've used PPU in 7.62x39 in 2 CZS and a Ruger M77 MKII with no issues and have reloaded the brass with good results.

I've shot it in 32 long, 32 ACP, 38 SPL, 30-30, and 7.5 Swiss. It seems a little dirty compared to US made ammo but not really bad. Accuracy on a par with any more expensive ammo. 7.5 Swiss has decent accuracy but not as good as the Swiss GP11 ammo. The Swiss military ammo is hard to beat even with handloads.

I've bought a box .30 Carbine here recently, and it was as accurate as the Remington. I've reloaded it twice and it seems to be very reloadable, and is much more accurate than the factory ammo, both PPC and Remington.

I've shot some in 7mm Rem Mag and I was pretty impressed. It grouped similar to the Federal Power Shok I was shooting and was $10 less per box. The brass seems decent as well. I've reloaded a fair amount of their brass in various calibers. Imo it's about on par with Winchester Power Points, Federal Power Shok, etc. I don't buy factory ammo very often, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy more of this if I needed it.

I have used commercial 7.62x25mm and M1 .30 Carbine ammo from Privi Partisan (PPU or ΠΠY (Pi Pi Upsilon)) with no problems and reasonable accuracy for the price. The last commercial Wolf Gold brand 7.62x25mm hollowpoint I bought was headstamped ΠΠY and like the other PPU was brass cased and non corrosive Boxer primed.

I did get a batch of military surplus 7.62x25mm ΠΠY '85 corrosive Berdan primed ammo with red lacquer primer sealant that had very hard primers (¿small rifle?) that occasionally required re-cock and second trigger pull to fire. The military surplus ΠΠY '85 also left a lot of red residue on the bolt face from the lacquer sealant after 30 rounds, requiring a scrub with toothbrush and solvent. The commercial ΠΠY 7.62x25mm has given me no such problems as the military surplus.

I have bought but not yet needed to fire commercial PPU in 7,63mm Mauser and 6.5x52 Carcano, based solely on good experience with PPU in 7.62x25mm and .30 Carbine.

Prvi Partizan PPU is my first choice in new plinking ammunition. For punching holes in paper, at least, I have been happy with it in .25 ACP, .32 ACP, .380 ACP, .38 Spl., 9x18mm, .30-30, 7.62X39, 7.62X54R, and it is the only 'store bought' .357 Magnum I buy (in 158 Grain SJHP). I look no farther than PPU if it is in stock and the price is right.
