Do you all think prices on S&W 610s have/will come down since Ruger came out with their double action revolver I 10mm?

I think in might come down a little bit but not much. There are some collectors that only want S&W and there just are not that many 610 out there.

I agree with mcb. A Ruger is not a S&W. If someone has their sights set on a 610, they wont be distracted by a Ruger

As much as I like my Smith's, if the 10mm GP100 came with a 5" tube it'd be in the running for my next deer pistol.

I love my S&W 610 and have put a ton of rounds through it in competition and even hunted (successfully) with it. But from a practical point of view the S&W 610 and the SRH 10mm revolvers are way bigger than they need to be for a 6-shot 10mm Auto revolver. In general I am not a big fan of Ruger double action revolvers being a S&W revolver guy but that said the GP100 in 10mm Auto seems like a perfect fit of revolver and cartridge and is the most appealing revolver Ruger has made in a long time. The only thing better than a GP100 in 10mm would be a S&W L-frame in 10mm. :p
