Devil's work, indeed.
Since I have probably 10k LPP .45acp brass, the SPP ones are just a nuisance.
I agree that they are easier to spot once decapped, but since I do not decap until loading, that is not a viable option (for me).
If I am loading and shooting frequently, I can spot them more easily, but it is a perishable skill...
And the fact that I load for multiple LPP cartridges to include 10mm, .41 Mag and .45LC means the SPP .45s gain me nothing (but heartache).
So I sort them, put them in a separate marked, bag, and if I ever get enough to be worth giving away, I will--probably at around 100 right now, but just added another ten or so (out of 400 rounds sorted) a couple nights ago. Or maybe, take perverse pleasure in smashing each with a hammer...just kidding.
jmorris, I am (yet again) astounded by your creativity. Wish my mind worked like that, and wish I had the time to create/assemble those clever devices. To be honest, I am not seeing what it is that allows the segregator to determine whether the case is LPP or SPP, and consequently initiate the kick-out action. If you'd rather pm me than publicly expose my densitosity (my 4th grade teacher's term, back in 1964 or so) that is okay too.
