While searching online deals on Lapua brass I hit website where new unprimed and primed PRVI brass is listed for sale, bad thing their Lapua brass is on back order. I'm reloading for 308 using 155 gr match bullets, trying to keep groups below 0.35 MOA, so my question did anyone tried PRVI brass and achieved superb results? Or should I just get my brass from midway and forget about it?

Lapua it is;) here I come anyone running sale on it? I found cabelas sells it for 65 and midway for 70 I'll take free shipping ;)

I personally have had no more problems with reloading Privi Partizan brass in .308, .270 and 7.5x55 Swiss. At least no more than I have with Winchester (dirty brass), Federal (soft brass resulting in oversized primer pockets) or PMC (undersized primer pockets). Once resized and trimmed Privi Partizan seems to shoot just as well as many of the well known brands. Some of their ammunition tends to be a little "off" when it comes to powder volume, but I still haven't shot any that didn't make 2 to 3 inch groups at 100 yds. Granted it may not be match ammo, but it sure beats not having anything to shoot.

I use a fair amount of Privi brass. Have not had any issues. For match loads, stick the lapua. You will not get the same level of consistency with Privi/PMC.

Lapua brass is premium brass, made to meet high quality standards.
Privi is made to meet basic quality standards. Which is reflected in the prices.
If your wanting to shoot the smallest groups you can, spend the bucks to make the most consistant ammo you can. Other than that Privi brass will do fine.

Lapua is nice if you have that kind of dough to blow on brass. If you're shooting 1000 yards, ok, it may make a difference. But if you prep your brass the same way, weight each prepped case and sort them by weight, double check your capacity of your cases against one another, your brass will do it's job well. Lapua isn't magic brass, it's just a bit more consistent and shortens the amount of matching you have to do.

I tried PPU match ammo before they are no comparison to Federal gold medal match, Federal groups perfectly and PPU gives away fliers, from 2 PPU boxes I fired I had weight spread from 165.0 - 168.2 grains which is not bad compare to Remington brass I once worked with 165.1 gr - 169.5 gr. I think what I'm going to do is to load some of my once fired PPU brass and see if I can tweak it to produce nicer groups then factory loads, looking just at the weight I can see why fliers occurred, inconsistency in weight probably directly related to case capacity and wall neck thickness... Will see...

If you have the Prvi brass at hand, I suggest trying it to see how well you can load. It is neither worse nor much better than Rem brass, and if you are consistent in your loading procedure, it will reflect on the target groups. You should be able to at least equal the Federal GMM with good components.

Lapua brass is beautiful stuff, and I use it in my heavy barrel 6.5x55.

Just because they call it match ammo don't make it so... :banghead:

Nice shooting.
You get what you pay for----a wise man once said.
When it comes to match brass, you really get what you pay for.
Privi's allright, and only just, for plinking 9mm reloads, in my opinion. Otherwise, I leave it with the Sellier and Belliot- in the bucket.

Thank you! I'll keep them for the hunting season, longest shots out here 100 - 200 yards and I think it will do fine, but for 600 - 1K shooting I'll stick to Lapua
