PSA A/R trigger

You can try to polish all the mating surfaces but honestly I would just replace it with a different trigger.

For not much money the LaRue MBT isn't a bad upgrade. https://www.larue.com/category/parts-accessories/lower-parts/triggers/

If you are willing to spend the money I always recommend the Geissele SSA-E for a component trigger or the Trigger Tech if you want a drop-in.

Have a PSA 223. The trigger seems a little gritty. is there a way to polish the unit to smooth it out.
Did you buy it as a complete lower/firearm or did you assemble it yourself?

Either way you can put a little grease on the trigger, hammer and sear to see if that helps. Most will recommend a dap of grease on those areas anyways when assembling yourself.

Now with the PSA mil-spec triggers, I can't say if they are fully hardened through out or just case hardened. IF only case hardened then you can possibly remove enough material with a file or stone to get below the hardened surface which can lead to problems.

I wasn’t confident enough to go ham on a trigger without ruining a couple, so I just upgraded to the Schmidt 2 stage trigger and PSA branded 2 stage trigger. The PSA mail-spec trigger wasn’t bad but the 2 stage triggers are pretty nice.

I run both the Schmidt 2 stage and two PSA EPTs.
For the money both have been great triggers without getting into Geissele or Hiperfire money, which I also have a few of.
ARs are one of the few platforms that have nice trigger options for cheap, IMHO not worth the time to polish a cheap FCG unless you just want the practice. My EPTs are from way back when they first came out and shine like a mirror, I couldn't hand polish that nice.
Some of my builds run surplus 7.62x39 or 7n6 and for those I like to run heavier hammer springs which ruin a good single stage but barely make a difference in a 2 stage.
